    New Member Introduction

Pretty sweet! Just big. Very, very big. Put about three of your NBs together, and I think you're get about the size and weight of a Gen 4 SHO. Haha!

Sweet NB. And the CX-5 is very lovely in MG. Wish it were a possibility for my wife's CX-5, at the time of purchase. :/

(Very) Detailed Comparison: 2013 Grand Touring AWD w/ Tech vs 2015 Touring AWD

The new shifter design and surrounding bezel are hideous. It isn't that I prefer the gated design, necessarily, but the new setup looks insanely cheap, and an aesthetic downgrade. Ugly knob doesn't help either.

    New CX5?

I was under the impression that the CX-5 doesn't utilize LSD. The AWD system works fine. It's a similar Haldex type system, which is used in tons of makes and models. It isn't full time, but it is able to produce torque in a fraction of a second. Most anybody wouldn't notice the difference.

    Black or White CX-5?

Look below, in my sig, for my first and last black car. Never again.

    Traded her in yesterday.

...you're sticking around, I hope. You've been a staple for me around here. I believe you and I bought a CX-5 within days of one another, back in March 2012! You've still got the IS350? I still love those cars.

Big different between iSport and touring/GT?

^That's a pretty comprehensive assessment. Thanks for that.

Big different between iSport and touring/GT?

Have you considered the Mazda 6? It seems more appropriate for a bachelor, unless you're looking for a little extra cargo space. Overall, the two are quite similar.

The fan speed itself is week. Yes, I've noticed this. But, cooling is adequate.

This HAS to be an MPG record!

Idling is zero MPG - you're not moving! So, yes, any lengthy idling or bumper to bumper traffic will destroy MPG. But, after only two fill ups? Efficiency will only improve, for such a low mileage engine.

Anyone else having probem with weeping oil drain plug?

50 years experience in anything never yields little in value!

You know if I had 1 major complaint or design flaw it would be........

Silver has got to be my least favorite color on an automobile. But, whatever. It's my wife's car, she can pick what she wants. The CX-5 is a modest car for me. But, my wife doesn't much care about what she drives, so long as it is reliable, and doesn't break the bank. So, maybe silver really is...

Anyone else having probem with weeping oil drain plug?

Mine weeps from time to time. Extremely aggravating, considering I've successfully reused crush type washers a bazillion times before, without issue. Needless to say, I'll be replacing that washer next time I have the drain plug out.

You know if I had 1 major complaint or design flaw it would be........

Cheap isn't the reason. I bought my CX-5 in the first week of March, before any substantial inventory was available. The wife refused to purchase a white or Sky Blue GT, and that's all there was at the time. So, silver Touring it was. Guess I'll take my cheap ass to the Audi dealer, and trade...

You know if I had 1 major complaint or design flaw it would be........

My chief complaint remains... The idiotic key feature on the 2013 Touring - A proxy key for push button start, with the physical button on the fob still needed to lock or unlock the doors. Unless I am mistaken, the 2014+ models amended this, and offered proximity entry. Just another way early...

Tell me when you see it...

Assholes. I can't even drive the CX-5 anymore. I get caught with my pants around my ankles too many times, with the scant horsepower. If my wife and I are going someplace together, I insist we take the SHO.

    Space, the needed frontier...

My wife and I bought the CX-5 for space, prepping for having a family/kids. Needless to say, we haven't reached that milestone yet, but it's certainly not far off now. We've had our nieces and nephews and cousins and such, situated in carseats in the back. The CX-5 didn't meet our space...

Dear Mazda, consider moving the shifter to steering column

I have a suspicion its placement is due to the concept of mimicking a manual gear shifter, especially in manual shift selection.

On the fence: Nissan Juke or CX-5?

I don't get the cross shopping between these two. The CX-5 is designed to contend with the RAV4 and CRV. The Juke has the Mini Cooper in its crosshairs. True story.

    Introduction - Member from Germany

I was visiting Germany a couple of weeks ago, on holiday. I noticed a decent number of CX-5's around. All in all, not as many Mazdas as I would've thought or expected to see. In fact, not tons of Japanese makes at all. I hope it isn't their tourists which dissuade you all from Japanese makes...
