    Who drives a cx5?

Surprised to see so many older folks in the CX-5. I'll bet many of the older owners are first time Mazda buyers. My wife and I bought hers before we were married as her primary vehicle, in March 2012. We were both I believe 26 years of age at the time. Married the next year. Have a baby on the...

    I Hate My CX-5

Mike, are you an older guy? It's kind of about perspective really. It's all relative. If anything, the advancements made to the internal combustion engine over the past 60 years has been monumental. Even the base small block, low comp. 8 cylinders of the 60's (like you'd find in a family...

    You Gotta Be Kidding Me!!!!

I think USDM supply is improving for those super thin oils, like the 0W20 in the CX-5. But, I wouldn't be surprised if they were truthful when they stated it was all they had. Plus, JiffyLube is SOPUS...isn't Pennzoil all they offer? Either way, it doesn't warrant charging a 50 percent...

    I Hate My CX-5

OP, there was definitely enough there to be appealing, or you wouldn't have plunked 25 or 30K to bring one home. Tastes change, as do cercumstances. Or, if the CX-5 didn't meet expectations in the sense of driving experience or driving pleasure, then the next new car purchase is deserving of...

    CX9 thru aluminum garage door

Even if you're able to remove the paint, there will almost certainly be (at leaast) minor damage or abrasions to the clear coat. Do you happen to have either a rotary or DA polisher, preferably the latter? I have removed and at least slightly repaired very similar damage to my wife's CX-5...

Cx-5 MPG keeps getting better and better!

That's quite good. I enjoyed very similar efficiency (38) on a trip to the Ozarks a couple years ago, probably with similar mileage on the odo. Perhaps a little less. And more importantly, with the horridly noisy, but seeming efficient OE 17" Geolandars. However, more recently, and with about...

    Change your cabin air filter

I just replaced the one in my wife's CX-5 finally. Right before year number 3 of ownership, perhaps in January or so. Wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting, especially seeing as it had over 40K miles on it at the time... I won't wait as long next time. XD

    2016 Grill vs. 2013-2015

Going to echo most of the rest comments here... Honeycomb grill looks better, but boy is it a pain in the ass to clean and a pain in the ass to keep clean. 16 plus grill still doesn't look bad though.

    2016 CX5 LED headlights

The LEDs and components would certainly be covered under your 3/32 bumper to bumper manufacturer warranty, and likely also by any extended service plan you may have purchased. But, you'd have to investigate the latter to be certain how the contract was arranged. I need to look into this...

12V power outlet is ON all the time (CX-5 2016). Not good :(

So, in regards to the OP's concern... I had a charger with an LED indicator plugged into my SHOs unswitched 12V outlet from the day I took ownership. And I let it sit undriven for weeks at a time. Non issue.

    Introducing the New Mazda CX-3

^Yes, indeed! I saw one too a couple of days ago. Actually, didn't know what the hell it was, nor knew about its existence. Ha

    2016 CX5 LED headlights

To be fair, LEDs have been used in various areas of automobiles for at least a decade now. LED low beams have been used in premium autos for several years now, and I would consider them an entirely different animal, considering their ultra high output. There's likely some info out there on how...

Orange wrench icon on my 2014 Mazda3, 17k miles

Yes, the wrench indicates you've exceeded a maintenance interval. So long as you properly maintain your maintenance records, you won't have an issue with your waranty. Just be certain the appropriate oil is being used. If it gives you peace of mind, source a case of the Mazda OE filters from...

12V power outlet is ON all the time (CX-5 2016). Not good :(

You're talking about an infinitesimal current draw from simply leaving a charging adapter plugged in. If you weren't driving the car for weeks or storing it, it might be a concern. Otherwise, it is a non issue.

    2016 CX-5 2.5L driving experience compared to Mazda 6?

Dang. GT w/ AWD is officially a pig. Additional weight gain is supposedly from bolstered sound deadening materials.

Mazda may expand its partnership with Toyota

A partnerships has been suggested for some time. This isn't surprising, as Mazda struggles to maintain resources and capital as a small underdeveloped automaker attempting to produce and engineer new, inventive ideas and technology.

    2016 CX-5 2.5L driving experience compared to Mazda 6?

They share similar underpinnings. Share mechanical componentry. Even similar design ques. It will literally come down simply to space, as all other aspects are so comparitively similar.

Would you buy a 'new' car with 100 miles on the odometer

Because there's old fashioned rationale, which you appear to have, which necessitates its placement in the owner's manual. It's like 3K mile OCI. It's taken years to ween the public off of 3K OCI, even though it really hasn't been necessary for nearly 20 years. People generally don't abuse...

Would you buy a 'new' car with 100 miles on the odometer

I don't consider 30 or 50 miles of cruising on the highway as a violation of the "break-in" precautions arbitrarily stated in the owner's manual. A few hundred miles perhaps. Modern engines are considered fully broken in before they even arrive to the end user. Anything stated in the manual is...
