    When replacing the air filter...

I'm still popping in, must be a bad habit. Maybe I just miss my CX-5... Enjoying the IS350 and C250 (so smooth turbo 4 banger) more frequently as a result. How's your CX-5 doing? Keeping you entertained enough? I hope the best for you and your family, I hope home is okay after the quake

    When replacing the air filter...

I thought OP wes talking about engine air filter (not cabin air filter), that being the case OE filter advised.

    The Best "CUV" I've seen

    Right, and spiffy too.

    Loud road noise...Is that normal?

Many have reported tire noise with standard Yokohamas after signficant miles are accumulated. Grand Touring 19's are different Toyo tires.

    The Best "CUV" I've seen

No kiddin, CX-5 competes with CRV, Escape, Rav, Rogue, Sportage, Tuscon mostly... (Not G wagons, Mecans, Explorers)

    The Best "CUV" I've seen

One of my relatives has a G55 with 100K miles, it's reliable and robust. They use it for camping and short trips only, usually drive a Camry Hybrid, I wonder why....

    The Best "CUV" I've seen

Mecan is nice, assuming the Q5 is reasonable reliable then Mecan should be. But tbd. Cayenne reliability history, like the crappy Toureg is not good.

    Black or White CX-5?

Go "Panda style" with mods if you cannot decide. Raiders logo would be cool too.

    The Best "CUV" I've seen

Exactly, like 98% of CX-5 owners that never intend to tow. Mazda did the homework, and they offer the CX-9 too.

    The Best "CUV" I've seen

Not really applicable comparison. ML is considerably bigger and heavier and therefore all 3 gens had/have V8 offerings. I owned a 2nd gen 3.5L V6 ML, it was very big and weighed 4900 pounds.

    Replacing Stock Tires or?

That must be an extra cost tire warranty deal (which Costco should provide in writing of course). I highly doubt it's standard/no extra charge with Costco tire purchase. The days of 5 tire rotations are dwindling rapidy (not that I miss it), kinda like carbs and leaded gasoline. Even space...

    Replacing Stock Tires or?

Mazda 2013 CX-5 owners manual covers that topic and gives recommendation below that applies to both fwd and awd versions: Replace all four tires at the same time: Replacing just one tire is dangerous. It could cause poor handling and poor braking resulting in loss of vehicle control. Mazda...

How long do OEM tires last?

^ I will speculate as to why somebody would run 44 psi in CX-5 tires. The goal might be long tire wear, and 63.5K miles is impressive long wear for standard Yokos. And hypermiling fuel efficiency too. But overly inflated tires to that degree cause substandard ride comfort and handling and...

Mazda paint quality question, and concern with door dings.

Often I read on automotive forums, about "thin paint" and "thin sheet metal", yawn. But never are any actual measurements or comparative data points included. After 2+ years of CX-5 ownership, I found the white paint and sheet metal to be no less durable than the many cars/SUVs that I've owned...

    Black or White CX-5?

White w/black leather and red stitching is best IMHO. My other cars are similar to black in being quite dark but easier to care for (colors: Lexus smokey granite mica and Mercedes steel gray metallic)

Mazda paint quality question, and concern with door dings.

2.3 years/30K miles of CX-5 ownership, 2 front fender dings from somebody's door.
