    US Diesel's big splash introduction

All those I've read constantly say the car drives better with the diesel compared to the 2.5, obviously a 2.5T would change that opinion.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

I would disagree as I tow with one, I'm replacing it with a Tiguan of the same size (in the uk) and expect that to cope also.

2.5T CX-5 Update Coming To Australia In November 2018

If you concern is fuel efficiency why buy a cx5 petrol, makes no sense. Diesel for MPG and for performance 2.5T makes plenty of sense to me for towing duty, it will be a mega towcar.

    Decision...2018 CX-5 vs Tiguan

Maybe maybe not. A recent reliability chart showed Mazda above VW for faults, but then said the latest Tiguan was the most reliable medium SUV, source whatcar mag. After being a member since around 2013 on this forum I have read of a lot of pissed of CX_5 owners, squeeks rattles, weak screens...

Took First Road trip in our 2018 CX-5..36.1 MPG!

Uk diesel reads high by around 2.6mpg uk. Tiguan UK car reads around 1.7mpg high, both cars diesel, not sure why the US version is more accurate, perhaps it the DPF regen that cocks it up.

How do you find your CX-5 highway acceleration to be?

Wait for the diesel, you won't find that lacking.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

bad tech is one of the reasons I'm buying a 5 seat Tiguan190ps SEL DSG, how reliable it will be remains to be seen, I have run an Audi before that was 100% reliable over 4.5 years. My 2013 cx-5 was the most unreliable car since that pile of dung Mini Metro, my last British car.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

My 2013 cx-5 was 1666kg with the same power up to the uprated engine, and the quickest, my 2015 car is 1703kg with the same power but auto which is also slower than a manual. Mazda are trying to go up market so the weight has increased year on year, I think you will be lucky to see a diesel...

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

I'm afraid the 0-60 figures will be in the 9's, Mazda claim 9.5 sec to 60mph for the 2017 model which weights 1754kg for my model.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

I returning around 40mpg uk at the moment, I tow so want the torque the diesel delivers, no sport mode with the UK diesel though. Usually its around 36mpg locally. Our average read out reads around 2.5 to 2.6 high, some say 3mpg.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

Probably because you will have E5 again? The new emissions testing will increase the use of ad-blue with a resulting increase in tank size. The Tiguan I've ordered has used Ad-blue from 2016 perhaps earlier with a 13L tank, due to an increase in emission limit to E6 d temp this now means the...

So is ours, I was quoting the 2019 model with adblue.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

The engine has probably been down rated to pass the US emission test, and will be significantly heavier as a result of having adblue, my 2019 model in the UK will be 1820kg.

More realistic MPG claims are due out after Sept 4th in the EU due to new testing procedures. https://www.mazda.co.uk/wltp/ Emissions are also expected to be shown as being higher.

    5 things I hate...

I like the Mazda diesel but dislike the fact that every revision has increased weight, and if the info I've seen is correct it will go over 1800kg in the UK in September. Yes the revised diesel will have 184ps and 445nm, but the power to weight is still around or less than my 2015 car, mines...
