    US Diesel's big splash introduction

I've read that DSG can be hesitant in slow traffic, we will see. My Mazda TC also hesitates from a standing start so I often put it into manual 1. Neither is perfect. Also read that the best gear box is a 8 speed ZF, unfortunately no car with one holds any attraction to me, I prefer CX5 or...

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

I couldn't tell any difference in the two test drives I had, they all change gear automatically, but there are lots off differing views in the UK re torque convertor and double clutch boxes, never having driven one for any length of time I can't comment. But I'm afraid Mazda will have to do...

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

That's another thing in the UK my model has a list price of around 35,500 , with metallic paint, no longer cheap, I bought my last one for 27,000.

Its also the top car in the UK, but its nice to have a change, I've had 5 years and never owned a VW, in fact only one German car before a Audi.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

The CX-5 is wasted on people like you, the diesel makes a very sporty sound on full throttle which I personally like to hear, Mazda deliberately put a sporty sound into the exhaust note with pre 2017 cars, to enhance the driving experience. In my day driving a 2017 car the only improvement I...

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

I wanted the engine you get, well the 190ps and 450nm, another reason for me moving away from Mazda.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

Only we only get 445nm in the UK. Besides its BHP that gets you up the hill the quickest, Tiguan has 190ps with a lower kerb weight... And then we have the 240ps Tiguan with 500nm.

What Other Cars Do You Have Beside Your CX-5?

Only ever had one car, I have no use for two.

    AA now availble.

Apparently UK CX-5 can now be fitted with AA etc, yet I don't read much on this forum about it lately . Retrofit is around 300 to 350, and I believe its an option for 2019 cars.

CX-5 - Again Australia's Top Selling SUV In August 2018

Australian cars have been lucky so far to only meet euro5, but come 2020 April all that will end, so get ready for power reductions. Its world wide according to this link. https://www.infineuminsight.com/insight/jan-2018/gasoline-particulate-filters

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

Where does the 10secs to 60 come from? 184ps diesel pulling 1820kg in the UK is 9.5 sec to 60mph. With 445nm passing should be easy, diesels excel with in gear performance. Do the US have any bhp figures yet for the diesel they will get?

    CX5 Turbo confirmed!

The 2.5T would be my choice over a German 2L which is near to a 1.9 anyway. It has more torque I believe than it rivals, it would be hugely attractive in the UK to people wanting a towcar but not a diesel.

    CX5 Turbo confirmed!

Are you sure about that? The Tiguan 240ps diesel will do it in 6.5secs.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

My son liked the 3 and would buy another, on average he would see around 42mpg UK, which is about the same he expects with the VW. As a passenger I couldn't fault the ride handling or performance with the car full with two kids and three adults... He like me wanted a change.

2.5T CX-5 Update Coming To Australia In November 2018

It was only 2012 when Mazda brought out the CX-5 diesel already euro6 with an engine that blow the opposition away, it had more torque than the 4 pot BMW or volvo etc. Even today most 4 pot don't give more than 400nm against 420nm for the mazda which is soon to be 184ps with 445nm in the UK. So...

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

I get the impression that MPG and performance is important to most members on this forum, the diesel delivers in both those areas. I wouldn't be remotely interested in a NA petrol. Even my son has traded in his Mazda3 120ps for a 1.4T 150ps seat leon.
