Test drove CX-5 on Saturday, have some questions

You better believe it! The difference is like chalk and cheese, night and day. With a dearth of torque, the petrol is always searching for the correct gear. Petrol is louder that the diesel at any given revs, amplified by the petrol always using more revs. Having said that, if you only putter...

How do I replace batteries in factory CX5 headphones?

Thanks for that info. Just bought a genuine Mazda carpet mat for the cargo bay from America on ebay. Only the plastic mat is available in Australia. Wanted to stop the groceries from sliding without resorting to the elastic web. Update on headphones, called Mazda customer support. They...

How do I replace batteries in factory CX5 headphones?

The headphones are supplied as part of the "rear seat entertainment holder for iPad" package. I'd get the all weather mats if we received more slush or snow. Window visors are slimline adhesive type, pretty slick and functional, just wish they were available in clear so they dont interrupt...

    fuel gauge and remaining gas

The diesel purrs like a contented cat, the petrol we test drove roared like an angry lion. Our needs would have been met by the petrol, but Mrs Giddy liked the refinement of the diesel over the petrol at idle and on the run!

    fuel gauge and remaining gas

I have a CX5 Diesel with 58 litre tank. (I'm not sorry that I'm Australian) Filled it with 46L of diesel (to the automatic shutoff of nozzle) when gauge had just dropped to one bar remaining. The distance to empty indicator read 40km (25 miles). Estimated 12 litres, an easy 160km (100 miles) of...

    Gauges disappoint

I was initially apprehensive when I bought new Honda Jazz without Temp guage 8yrs ago. Main concern was that there were different "degrees" of overheating. Knowing where your temp needle normally sits gives an early indication of a problem if it reads above that point. Nice to know CX5 has two...

What car did you trade in for your CX-5?

2004 Honda Jazz. Really wanted an SUV (Urban Shopping Vehicle) that was substantially "best in class". Considered Volkswagen Tiguan but discouraged by high servicing costs, lack of reliability and customer support, lack of luggage space, and defective DSG transmissions. (considering that CVT in...

Test drove an awd touring and a fwd manual sport today. My opinion.......

Hyundai i30 among others use projector headlights. In Australia it is a requirement by law that all HID headlights have jetwashers installed as HID's efficiency is drastically reduced when dust/dirt accumulates on the headlight. Are they HID's?, look for the washer mounted below!

Where do you put the key?

Spring loaded clip on my waist (occupational hazard of being a prison officer). It's really handy. Missus likes when I accompany her as she doesn't have rummage around in her handbag! Just hope she remembers to lock the car when I'm not with her.

    You choose what color?

39 y.o. Last 8 yrs owned "vivid blue" Honda Jazz (almost indistinguishable from Mazda's Sky Blue). Liked sky blue best (really shows all the definition lines beautifully), but the Minister for War and Finance wanted a change! Almost had to buy an Audi Q3 to get the burnt orange. We chose pearl...

How do I replace batteries in factory CX5 headphones?

I said they were Mazda accessories, as in accessories advertised by Mazda in their brochures and website. Not sourced and provided exclusively by the local dealer. How can there be "nothing official Mazda about it". The dealer will be my next point of inquiry, although I don't have much...

How do I replace batteries in factory CX5 headphones?

Thanks CX-5um, I had tried a google search by model designation (no brand name), also suspected that they weren't manufactured by Mazda. Had to convince Mrs Giddy that contacting the dealer or Mazda HQ was a last resort. ("All mazda accessories are warrantied, you know!") The search engine here...

How do I replace batteries in factory CX5 headphones?

Purchased two mazda accessory iPad holders and they came with headphones. Initially they worked for a short time. Now not working, suspect they need "charging" or their batteries replaced (if they have any). I don't have any manuals to help me. Have searched forums but to no avail. Please...

    Issues with Closing Liftgate

G'day guys and gals, I also have experienced difficulty in closing the tailgate properly. My thoughts are that it doesn't close due to cabin air pressure. The door and hatch rubber seals are doing their jobs too well. These may loosen up with time. In the interim, I have resorted to opening one...
