Factory Bose Amplifier location in 2018 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring?

That BOSE is a DVC sub huh? Interesting. I apologize in advance if this response is not helpful. My standard advice is to have someone more experienced do your install. Unfortunately it is very easy to fry things in stock radio wiring harnesses (and the expensive head unit) and it seems that...

    Rolling knock/clicking sound while turning

Hearing a distinct clicking sound while on gas that goes away as soon as you let it coast is CV joint problem 99% of the time. I'm sad to say that your experience of problems after replacement is not unique. Lots of people have experienced this after replacing CV's on just about every brand of...

Factory Bose Amplifier location in 2018 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring?

I don't know for a fact with the 2018 manual since haven't seen it, but it is definitely included in the Gen-1 manual, so I think you can rest easy spending the money. It's way in the back of the manual after just about every other system diagram. You could also call your service department...

CX-9 Timing Chain, Water Pump, and VVT - Engine does not need to be removed

FYI, Just about every manufacturer uses a plastic material on the chain guides including Mazda. The plastic is the wear layer. Metal would be far noisier and would risk metal filings from chain and guide wear. As an aside, the failures on E38/E39 BMW engines (I used to own a E38, 7-series =...

CX-9 Timing Chain, Water Pump, and VVT - Engine does not need to be removed

I hesitate posting to this old resurrected thread, but the above statements require a response. While the location of the water pump is a pain for everyone concerned, it is becoming a very common location in transverse-mounted engines with tiny engine bays. The ease of installing the engine...

2007~2015 CX-9 Water Pump Replacement DIY Guide

    1. The part I received when ordering using that number was indeed wrong. Since the original was not in bad shape I returned it and moved on. 2. The secondary camshaft guides did have some wear on them comparable to the guide shown in the before/after pic and were candidates for replacement...

    Turn ABS Off

I'm hoping you're baiting me like a bridge-minder with that silly AWD comment. LOL In case you're not, AWD does absolutely NOTHING to help you stop in any weather. In fact, AWD increases the mass of the vehicle which will make your stops longer. One word explains it all - physics. Snow tires...

    Turn ABS Off

Good points in this thread (tires, tires, tires) but the criteria to judge the value of TCS for each driver will vary. For an inexperienced driver that never learned how to pump brakes and steer properly, ABS/TCS can save them in dicey braking situations where locked wheels would cause any...

    Rolling knock/clicking sound while turning

Brand new aftermarket shaft should have better grease but who knows. Reman shaft from Mazda will have updated grease. I'd listen carefully as you may have a new problem. Hopefully you did it yourself and know how to do it fast now if necessary.

    Rolling knock/clicking sound while turning

There was a TSB on this years ago - the grease in 2007-2008 CX-9's gets stiff below around 15F and causes the slip/click behavior. The fix was to pull the CV and either replace the whole unit or reboot/regrease. My 2008 here in Chi-town did this for tge first time during the recent cold snap...

Used 1st Gen - What to look for

Water Pump thread: https://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123860369-CX-9-Water-Pump-Replacement-DIY-Guide My 2008 FWD with only 77k has been a great vehicle. The fuel pump died but that could have been running on empty too many times. The suspension components were replaced under...

    Acorn in bottom vent

Just like passes in football, if you can touch it you can catch it. Since you have the endoscope I would try attaching thick duct tape to the camera end so that it sticks out like a curled tongue (think tube). Of course it may take a few tries and you may get the tape stuck along the way so be...

    AC leaking passenger floor

If you don't know where to look the drain outlet will be hard to find. Here's a link to a video that shows the location pretty well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75xqS2wqUDw Also be sure to pull the interior air filter and blow it out. I also had to vacuum out leaf debris from my fan...

    AWD or FWD

Didn't know you were a mod now Tekbis. This board is full of great discussions and information buried in threads where the OP had moved on.

    AWD or FWD

Huh? Set theory references? LOL I never said AWD was dangerous so what in the world is your point? Bridges need minding I guess. Be well.

    AWD or FWD

Yep, overconfidence is a killer when you're behind the wheel of a 2-ton missile. I have no worries about people who invest in winter tires over AWD. They will be safer and wiser for the experience of stopping shorter and cornering safer in the slop. I've yet to see someone with snow tires...

    AWD or FWD

Light-duty AWD = Manufacturer Profit in the snowbelt First, the AWD system in current Mazdas is not sophisticated in any way compared to other systems. You're buying into the marketing. Check out the video of the Mazda CX-9 I-active AWD stuck on the paved hump in the road and the accompanying...

    AWD or FWD

This horse has been well beaten here and elsewhere. I have owned both and would never waste money and weight on AWD in these vehicles. A competent driver with FWD and good tires will have no trouble in 99% of situations CX-9 owners face on paved roads. Remember that these are light duty AWD...
