    considering buying a mazda 6

It was assumed you were looking at buying a new Mazda 6 since your post didn't specify.

    A not-so-positive review of the 2019 CX-9 Signature

I'm 6'1" 260 lbs and I find the seats to be great. A little more lumbar and they'd be perfect. Not sure what this guy's problem is. He seems to have an average frame, should be comfortable.

    A not-so-positive review of the 2019 CX-9 Signature

Seems like he reviews it without any thought of the inferior competition. Many of his complaints are based on it just being large and therefore not having typical Mazda dynamics while failing to realize it blows all competitors out of the water in dynamics. There's only so much you can do with a...

    Turbo: nobody home?

I have the engine both in the CX-9 and 6 and haven't noticed such a thing. I too watched that review last night. SG has a tendency to exaggerate things so who knows if it was really a glaring issue or just slight lag.

Snow causing front sensors to beep incessantly...

And people think fully autonomous cars is going to work, LOL. Maybe many years down the road, but using technology that needs to "see" isn't going to work. Never mind the algorithmic issues now being discovered. Just read an article describing the problem AI is having in learning enough to...

Car and Driver's 2019 10Best Trucks and SUVs

Sweet! It's all the more impressive since they are entering their 4th year. The oldest models on the list if I'm not mistaken.

Cross shopping cx-9 with Lexus rx350l and Acura MDX

Yeah, I could care less about the brand. The CX-9 was my first Mazda because the product sold itself. Each time I buy a car, I buy the vehicle that best fits my needs and desires that time around. The only brand quality I look at is the general history of quality/reliability. This generally...

Cross shopping cx-9 with Lexus rx350l and Acura MDX

I'd buy the CX-9 even if the Lexus and Acura were the same price.

    Retrofit 360 view camera

I find the backup camera and parking sensors to be more than enough. If you have a lower trim without the sensors I could see it being tougher to judge. Considering it's expensive for the factory to do it, I can only imagine how expensive a retrofit would be. I wonder if there's aftermarket kits...

    Yes, that's normal.

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Normal performance is around 7-10 seconds from startup where the legal screen clears and you can begin to navigate screen. A bit longer if connecting direct to Bluetooth.

Looks like I'm getting a CX-9 as a work vehicle...

I just mean that companies that provide company cars usually provide more basic transportation. Think base Chevy Malibu or Ford Escape or something. Just something vanilla to get you A-B. Not something with plush leather, every electronic goody, etc.

Wow, what kind of job gives you a $40K car allowance?

Thinking of trading up from 2016 CX-5 GT to either a CX-9 or new CX-5 turbo ?

...and gas is $2.50/gal. It's not that consequential.

Thinking of trading up from 2016 CX-5 GT to either a CX-9 or new CX-5 turbo ?

Yeah, I've never come anywhere close to EPA estimates. Doesn't concern me too much, just figure it's because I can't drive below 80 mph on the highway. CX-9 feels like it's going 55 at 80. I average closer to 19-20 MPG.

Why did you purchase a CX-9?

Agreed. If "best" was a scientific conclusion, then only one vehicle in each category/class would ultimately sell, right? Because personal opinion and preference goes out the window. Minivans from a purely rational standpoint are regarded as the "best" family vehicle. Yet, a majority of...

Why did you purchase a CX-9?

You may be right that if cost was equal, more people would still get the compact CUV over the 3-row. I tend to think sales would line up more equally. For me personally, I'm not crazy about how compact CUV's look. They look compressed and stubby while 3-row or at least mid-size 2 rows look...

Why did you purchase a CX-9?

While I did suggest that the CX-9 is the best 3-row crossover [in class], I admit that "best" is a relative term when it comes to cars. "Best" is in the eyes of the beholder and to that persons needs and desires. Regardless, the auto press does often come down to a general consensus on the...

    CX-8 vs CX-9

CX-8 will not be coming to the US. It was developed primarily for countries with strict sizing laws, like Japan. It's funny, the CX-9 is built in Japan but isn't allowed to be sold there.
