    Rotating tires at home

Replaced my rear brake pads and rotors today and I successfully got the jack to the rear crossmember. Just had to have the jack handle nearly horizontal to get it there, and it took a bunch of small pumps initially since there was little clearance. Thanks for the motivation to give it a good...

    Rotating tires at home

That's similar to what mine is - a big red from pep boys. I just always felt like the bar would be bumping into the bumper. Guess I'll look a little more closely next time and give it another go!

    Rotating tires at home

I don't see how it's possible to even get a floor jack that far under with enough clearance to crank it - maybe my cheap Torin 6-ton steel jack isn't ideal? Up till now I've just done one corner at a time.

    2016 squeaky seat

My 2013 had a creaking noise in the seatback. I had it fixed under warranty when it was in for the shaky mirror fix, and it was something like a spring or coil that had become disconnected from the seat's frame. The seatback unzips easily if that's where the problem is and you want to try to...

Bolts for license plate that won't rust

I ended up going with stainless from what I could find at Home Depot. Simplest solution since the rear needed machine screws and the front needed self-tapping. If they corrode and I have to replace them in a few years, no biggie.

Tire Review: Pirelle Scorpion Verde All Season Plus

I've got about 900 miles on them now since install and they still feel great to me. Just drove a 150 mile trip this holiday weekend, including some freeway at 70 mph and some driving through towns. No complaints and I'm totally happy with my choice. I track my gas mileage religiously in the...

Tire Review: Pirelle Scorpion Verde All Season Plus

About 250 miles on my Scorpion Verde All Season Pluses since install a couple of weeks ago. They feel great to me and I haven't had the vibration issues that OP had. The steering response seems increased, and it's definitely better grip than the old Yokos. Ride quality seems a little better, but...

    CX-5 Pinstriped ?

Dated or not, it's personal opinion. I think pinstripes look tacky and out of place on nearly any car. For the CX-5 in particular,I feel like Mazda put so many swoops and curves and creases in the sheet metal of this thing that a pinstripe ruins the car's natural lines. Especially when one runs...

Bolts for license plate that won't rust

Lots of great info, and I'm glad a few of you mentioned the M6 x 25mm/1". That's all of the info I was looking for in addition to the recommendations on types of screws. Anyone know if the front ones are different since they screw directly into the bumper cover? I know I could back them out to...

Bolts for license plate that won't rust

Anyone have some recommendations on bolts to use on the license plates that won't rust and corrode?

    What are the factory tints?

It definitely varies by locality. I had 20% on my Pontiac G6's windows and got pulled over in Baltimore County, MD. Car was stock and a couple years old. No violation except for tint. I was required to remove it and drive the car to the police station for them to verify that it had been removed.

Tire Review: Pirelle Scorpion Verde All Season Plus

I've got 37K on the stock Yokos and they're all less than 4/32", so I just ordered the same Pirellis from Tire Rack. Looking forward to seeing what kind of upgrade they might be over the Yokos. The reviews on Tire Rack for the Pirellis are what ultimately sold me, including their supposed...

Guide CX-5 Factory Remote Starter - Install and Program

I wanted to share my experience with the remote start installation I just finished. As many have mentioned, the registration process was the most frustrating part. The install itself took me about 2 hours including the hood switch (I really took my time so I wouldn't screw anything up). I...

2013~2016 CX-5 squeaky power door lock actuator?

The front passenger door on my 2013 was doing this, primarily in cold temperatures and only when pressing unlock. First time it was in with the dealer for that and the TSB mirror fix, they couldn't replicate it. I took a video like others here suggested and showed it to the service advisor. He...

Car rolling backwards while in park on an incline

I tried it again on dry pavement yesterday afternoon and the pawl grabbed as expected. It must be something related to what deepfriedsushi and gaxibm said with the slippery surface and the tires. Even though the tires aren't worn down, they've still got 33K mi on them and they're the stock...

Car rolling backwards while in park on an incline

I'll have to keep that in mind. I guess I'll have to monitor it and decide if I need to take it in. Assuming this would ultimately fall under the 5 yr/60K mi powertrain warranty if it is indeed transmission-related? Thanks for everyone's thoughts so far.

Car rolling backwards while in park on an incline

(shrug) I honestly don't have an explanation and it's just something I've never done and my parents nor my wife or her family do it on a regular basis. Funny that you ask because when I was searching online before posting, there are similar threads about pawls and whatnot that just get into the...

Car rolling backwards while in park on an incline

When I put on the parking brake it immediately stopped rolling, so I don't think it was the slipperiness of the surface. The tires are the original Yokos, but they're not even down to the wear bars so they have decent traction - dealer service department marked them as 'green' on their courtesy...
