Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

The Chestnut looks nice but doesn't quite stand out like the Auburn. I like the contrast stitching though. Notice the newly designed font/badge as introduced on the new Mazda 3.

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

Good find 👍. That center console looks much more substantial that most of the competition. I wonder how it moves out of place. The main point of captains chairs is so that kids can simply pass through the middle to the 3rd row.

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

Definitely some nice updates. So from what it sounds like there's no exterior refresh? It doesn't need one but I'm surprised that there isn't the usual grill freshening and such. Especially since the rest of the Mazda line has gone to a mesh grill leaving the CX-9 alone with a slat design.

    2018 CX-9 Wiper Blade Replacement?

Looks good. However, I put 2018 CX-9 into field that asks to insure fitment, and it said they do not fit vehicle even though the title specifically says 2018 CX-9, LOL. I assume it's a glitch?

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

I have to imagine they'll be more changes than seen on the paper in the video. This should be a more thorough refresh rather than a few feature changes as it is mid-cycle. I'm certain they'll be the usual grill changes and such. The 1st Gen CX-9 went through 3 different front ends. I have to...

OEM Crossbars - Pain in the butt

While everyone's situation is different, IMO if you can afford a new CX-9, you don't need to tie yourself down in aggravation installing crossbars. Let the dealer do it. If you like doing your own work, that's one thing. I won't even bother doing my own oil changes. Don't even have time to cut...

Difference between base Mazda 3 & 6 is now only $900 for '19

https://www.motortrend.com/cars/toyota/corolla/2020/2020-toyota-corolla-vs-2019-mazda3-comparison-test-review/ A surprising result from a Motor Trend comparo of Mazda 3 and Corolla. Motor Trend always goes with Mazda as the driving enthusiasts.

Mazda 6 SkiActiv-D Signature coming (on Mazda's website).

Diesel cars just don't make sense in America because diesel costs more so why would you pay thousands more for the car, then pay more for fuel. The added MPG just comes no where close to adding up until many years and miles pass. We'll, at least they make more sense than electric cars.

Mazda 6 SkiActiv-D Signature coming (on Mazda's website).

Interesting that this far into the current generation, now in its 7th year, Mazda would add yet another engine option. I'm sure it's an identical version as used in the CX-5 diesel. It's shown under the "coming soon" vehicle tab. Presumably, it's gotta be for the 2020 model year which has to...

Difference between base Mazda 3 & 6 is now only $900 for '19

The Mazda 6 is already the most upscale car in its class with the possible exception of the not-so good-looking Accord. The GT-Reserve and Signature are near luxury class (better in some ways over some luxury branded models). Many luxury badged cars don't have suede dashes, Nappa leather seats...

2018 CX-9 Recall for harness concern

I saw this come up in my Google news feed yesterday. Figures, mine looks to be built in that 2 month window (first units of the 2018 model year). I've never experienced any electrical issues these first 15,000 miles. My concern is that they'll have to remove the dash or center console to fix and...

    Mazda developing staight-six engines

I did own one for a while here in New England. I even ran it without proper tires and it was a disaster. However, with winter tires, you'd be fine. I understand most people don't like to switch to winter sets though. What I'm saying is that people will be getting the AWD version in the north...

    CX-9 Picture Thread

Damn, that looks great. Kinda makes me wanna black out all the chrome. Problem is I like it both ways. Wheels are perfect too. 22's give the CX-9 even more presence than it already has.

Need help with "End of life" decision - Transfer Case + Transmission 08 CX-9 AWD

It's too bad you're writing off all current and future Mazda's. The 1st gen CX-9 is barely even a Mazda. The failing parts (transfer case and transmission) aren't Mazda parts/designs. Current Mazda's are built to proper Japanese standards free of these issues. I know once people get burned on...

    Mazda developing staight-six engines

We'd be talking about the next generation arcitecture, so a RWD switch would be reasonable. Just speculation at this point but it just seems to make sense with them going to a straight 6. While they have been used with FWD arcitecture, it's just not typical.

    Mazda developing staight-six engines

I believe Mazda is in the works of switching to RWD platforms, at least with the Mazda 6 and CX-9. This to me is the obvious conclusion with the development of an inline 6 from a small automaker. This makes perfect sense for Mazda who prioritizes driving dynamics. Why continue with FWD...

    Mazda developing staight-six engines

No matter how you slice it, the CX-9 is significantly faster than a 2002 Pathfinder with the 3.5 V-6 (which was a major upgrade in 2001 from the previous powerplant). A Car and Driver test has the 0-60 in 9.2 seconds. CX-9 does it in 7.3 seconds. Hard to determine an on road situation to...
