One question I have is has anyone on here popped out a plug from a brand new 2.5NA and seen what Mazda is installing now?

I bought the long special Tensioner Wrench at Harbor Freight. $15.19+tax after my 20% off coupon. I'm going to try again on Sunday.

Maybe put a dryer sheet on top of the cabin filter. If a smell is going to be coming in, at least it'd be one you selected!

They have GF6 in all their other oils, but they are not going to produce the Zepro line any more.

Look at a bunch of those online and the common complaint was they broke. Twisted the square socket head right off the body of the tool.

I had used the Mazda Moly oil in my CX-5 from new until I learned on here that the Idemitsu Zepro Eco Medalist was actually the exact same oil. I started using that instead because it was available in a 5 quart jug for around the same price (and sometimes less) that the Mazda branded individual...

The wrench I tried to use is 18" long. It has a ratcheting, swivel head with a splined profile insert. The ratchet "catches" after just 4 degrees of movement. This is the set I have. From the top, I managed to engage the 17mm tension relief hex thing from the top, but there wasn't enough...

I haven't taken it to my mechanic yet. But I will ask for the old part when I do.

They are made in Thailand, not Taiwan.

Just saw this message today. They were from Aliexpress and were supposed to fit 2013-2016 CX-5.

OK, I'm a failure! I did NOT replace the belt tensioner or belts today. I got all ready to decided to due the "take-off-the-right-front-tire-and-splash-shield" method. I did that and unfortunately, unlike the Mazda3 in the video, the belt tensioner in the CX-5 is in an almost impossible...

I think I'll tackle this job tomorrow. I'll post a pic of the one I take out. FWIW, my build date is 07/13.

Hard plastic. It's made in Canada and appears very well made.
