    2023 CX-5 Spy pictures

At its current price point the CX-5 is hard to beat. Although, if it’s moving up market it’ll need a transmission with similar characteristics to that of the ZF transmission in BMW’s. The Mazda’s tranny feels like a Buick compared to the ZF.

Can anyone read the tire size? Looks like at least 20’s. Curious about the width, too.

    2.5T CX-5 Piggyback

Earlier in his thread on N54.com Terry talked about having a hard time making HP with this engine. Torque was no problem, but the high RPM HP just isn’t there. Speaks to the small turbo Mazda used. I’ll be sticking with the base Map on the JB4 whenever it’s released.

    2012 CX-5 SkyActiv-D 2.2L diesel...Turbos gone?

Different engine, but my CX-7 started smoking, it was caused by the intake and exhaust impeller seals/bearings failing and allowing oil to leak into the turbo. An easy way to tell your seals/bearings are bad is to pull enough of the intake off to get your fingers inside the turbo and check for...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

I use 93 octane consistently. Can’t speak to the effects of <20 with lower octane.

    Mazda3 Turbo Hatchback in Snowstorm

Heat soak only works for the first launch in the CX-5, and then it goes back to a boostless 1st and 2nd gear. It’s all about the ambient temp. Engine and tranny temps don’t seem to play a part in it. I was asking because Burger Motorsports is using a Mazda 3 turbo to develop their tune for all...
