    Car Battery Registration Reset

That's phenomenal battery life. But knowing how small Mazda OE batteries are, I would have replaced them by now to be on the safe side.

Well with a name like "GrampaSlade", it sounds like it may be your last vehicle period!;)

    Car Battery Registration Reset

You might not say that if you ever owned a BMW whose expensive AGM battery lasted close to ten years. Battery management systems work, but if they do add cost.

2024 Mazda CX-5 GS Cracked plastic trim engine bay

Super glue? Why were you putting a new battery (which is warrantable within the first 12 months of ownership) in a MY24 car?

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

They're pretty lo-key, but have been around building serious Mazda performance parts for decades. Check them out: https://www.racingbeat.com/

Mazda CEO says American drivers want ICE vehicles

By that logic, the CX-3 was closer to his description and we all know how that ended!

Mazda CEO says American drivers want ICE vehicles

Really?! And you don't think there's a reason no other manufacturer offers a car like that in the US?

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

My impression of them is they’ll make/sell just about anything they sense a demand for whether there’s a real or only imagined benefit. They seem to tool up quickly and push the product out the door often without adequate development. Compare them to a company like Racing Beat that works closely...

2019 CX-5 Climate control - want to downgrade to manual type

Probably the best advise I"ve seen on a Mazda forum regarding climate control was shortly after I bought my '18 Mazda 3. The comment was simply "Quit trying to second guess the system; just set the temp and forget it." That's pretty much how I've come to use it on both the 3 and the CX-5.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

I first became aware of Corksport in 2013 when I bought my first CX-5 and became a member of a couple of forums. Their products were second rate then and it doesn't surprise me that nothing has changed there.

2019 CX-5 Climate control - want to downgrade to manual type

This doesn't answer your question, but a large part of the problem is with Mazda's insistence on mounting the HVAC controls low on the dash year after year. Whatever you need from these controls forces you to take your eyes off the road for far too long. When I'm driving with my wife, I usually...

    Thoughts on paddle shifters

If gear control is not a gimmick, how is a device that offers some measure of gear control on an eight speed (or six speed) automatic with a mind of its own a gimmick?

Short trips in winter - block heater and heating pad?

Please explain the kickdown switch to me

I've owned three Mazdas with the SkyActiv drivetrain. 2013 and 2023 CX-5s and a 2018 3. I have never sensed anything like a mechanical kickdown switch in any of them despite reading years ago that Mazda began using them across the board in the mid-teens.

    Thoughts on paddle shifters

To each his own Grampa. Some people want a little more involvement! (even at age 76!;)) That, and some people get an automatic because that's all that's offered!

    Thoughts on paddle shifters

Absolutely! I've been driving CX-5s and Mazda 3s for 12 years now and rarely resort to using manual mode. Paddle shifters are another matter. I frequently find myself pulling a grade (either up or downhill) with the trans not dropping a gear exactly when I would prefer. No fault of the 6AT, it's...
