What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Oh right, thanks again for measuring your CX-5 arms. I did mean to measure my own but forgot to do it. I took a couple of minutes to scurry around under my car just now. It's tough to get an accurate measurement, but I think the CX-9 camber arms are just a bit bigger. Something like 0.5" to...

2017~2025 CX-5 Original Front Brakes, Outside Pads No Wear, Inside Finished?

Wow, this is certainly the worst case of uneven pad wear I've seen. I had a 2018 CX-9 with a small amount of uneven pad wear on one side, and indeed, it was due to a lack of remaining lube on the slide pin on that side, which resulted in some corrosion starting to form on the pin itself. In...

Looking to sue Mazda in a class action

To add another anecdote, my dad has a 2018 Chevy Equinox, and his automatic emergency braking is the most sensitive I've experienced. Even after changing the settings to intervene as late as possible, it reacts as soon as it would in my CX-9 when the system was set to the "medium" setting.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

I've always been told that the front camber can be adjusted, but only very slightly. The rear can't be adjusted. I've also tried to look for adjustable rear camber arms, but only found one instance of one guy in Japan who had adjustable rear arms installed, but he had to notch his subframe to...

Looking to sue Mazda in a class action

If you want to cite your sources (post links to the lawsuits you're referring to, links to the forum member posts you've found, and FB posts of people who have had this issue), that would help your case a lot. You'll need to provide all that info anyway if you plan to move forward with a lawsuit...

Looking to sue Mazda in a class action

To be fair, it's been less than a day, and it is possible that they're having this exact issue with their car. With such an unheard of issue in the CX-5, it's much more important that they get as much info as possible before moving forward with a lawsuit.

Looking to sue Mazda in a class action

I would suggest that before you start this process, you first need to determine what's causing the issue, what the fix is, and whether Mazda is covering the repair under warranty. I think you'd need this information in order to determine exactly what your lawsuit applies to, and what resolution...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

I also posted my review of the F17 Elite dashcam here. On the subject of headlights, I noticed that the low-beam cutoff on my 2022 CX-9 is different from my old 2018 CX-9. The old one had a relatively flat cutoff with a very slight step. The 2022 has more of a "hump" where the step used to be...

    Redtiger F17 Elite dashcam review

Hey guys, just posting my review of the F17 Elite dashcam. FULL DISCLOSURE: I did not pay for this dashcam, or the hardwire kit that came with it, which is normally sold separately. A big thank you to @Redtiger for offering me the opportunity to test and review this F17 Elite dashcam. First...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Treating the seals in preparation for winter temps is also useful in preventing your doors, liftgate, hood, and gas cap from freezing shut after a car wash. The silicone spray acts as a water displacer, and it also helps with preventing the ice from "sticking" even if you don't dry the seals...

How do you pick winter tires?

Agreed. All of the tires being compared probably work great in normal wet conditions, the difference is simply that CC2s will reach their limit sooner than the other comparable tires when it comes to traction on wet surfaces. If you never come close to that limit, you won't have issues.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

I love it! I'd say it's geared more towards the "casual" tuner, someone who just wants to plug it in and go. With that said, the JB4 community is full of people much more experienced with tuning who are comfortable with modifying parameters, interpreting the logs, and then making adjustments to...

Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

17" is about the smallest you can go with the CX-5 turbo due to the bigger brakes up front. For the CX-5 N/A, the brakes are a bit smaller so you might be able to go to 16, but don't quote me on that. Hopefully someone else can confirm.

Just bought a new CX-70 PHEV

Welcome @Blackout70! The car looks great with the blacked out trim! I also came from sedan/tuner imports.. I had a couple of Accords and an IS250 as well.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Payam and Terry over at Burger Tuning sent me some extensions for the second MAP sensor connector at the intercooler. This essentially makes disconnecting and reconnecting the JB4 much easier, though once it's installed there's really no reason to uninstall it unless you need to troubleshoot an...

    2013~2016 CX-5 Transmission mechanic recommendations

It's likely that the dealer mechanic simply doesn't want to be liable for any issues after the transmission service, in case something happens to go wrong. I can see them turning people with high mileage away, especially since there is no transmission fluid change interval published in the...

Just bought a CX-5. What maintenance should I do right away?

Besides what's already been mentioned, it might be a good idea to change out the cabin air filter and at least inspect the engine air filter. Both are super easy to do.

How do you pick winter tires?

I go by tire ratings and customer reviews. Usually the reviews or the retailer websites will offer a little more insight. I've used Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2s for the last 6-7 years. I think they offer good grip and excellent durability, but they are noisy on clear pavement. I think that if I...
