    SkyActiv Oil Analysis Thread

Savageese a YT reviewer sent his factory oil on his Mazda3 for analysis and blackstone recommended 15K miles for him. I am sticking at 7500-8500 miles. My last OC was at a dealer without moly and man their oil sucked. Its been only a day on mobil1 and its a world of difference. One day in the...

    Optimal cruising MPG

I can't see what model you have but Gen1 CX5 cruising around 55-60 mpg with a Moly or full synthetic + 2 psi more than recommended should get you close to 33 mpg imho. If your distance is long enough you should be able to hit 36+ on good days. A good moly makes a huge difference. The crap my...

    2017~2025 Product sucks

I saw the panel gap between the hood and front quarter on the new rav4. It was atrocious. Felt like the car was in an accident

    2017~2025 Product sucks

He has never dealt with dealers in US before. I can see how this will end, Mazda NA will ask him to take his car to 2 dealers and those dealers in turn will make him come in 3 or 4 times since this is warranty work. After which they may make the problem worse for him. I am actually sad that I...

where to buy Oil Filters for best price these days? Open to buying in small bulk.

There are 10 302A (not MV) on eBay for 70 bucks. 10 is really 5 years worth at 7 bucks a pop. I am close to 70 bucks per Oil Change with fees and all. Mobil1 + Japan Oil Filter. Same 302A filter is $44 for 6 - again good deal.

    My dealership made an "oops"

My dealer would have stuck a can of Campbell's soup (not even the low sodium variety). But have seen this honesty from my Toyota dealer and have 6 Qts Mobil 1 from Sam's at home. Need to order the oil filter and let them change my oil. My Mazda dealer will not see my car again (hopefully).

Next Gen CX-5 Design and Content Suggestions

I doubt Mazda will do that, one of the reasons it has not folded is being well within CARB / CAFE limits. It wont make sense from a business perspective, I actually give Mazda 30% chance of putting the 2.5T with AWD in Mazda3 / Mazda 6.

Next Gen CX-5 Design and Content Suggestions

Sub 80 mile EV with Range Extender. A Plug in Hybrid with 30 mile range + the 2Liter gas engine to supplement. - PHEV starting around 35K and EV around 40K. Replace 2.5 G with 2.0 Sky X and keep 2.5T for higher trims.

    302hp RAV4

45K with about 5K in Federal tax rebates. I doubt Toyota will need to give any incentives besides 200-500 dollars. There will be a wait list for this. Still 40K new is a bad deal when a lot of plug ins are available in the slightly used market if you don't need a crossover.

    2013~2016 Battery life?

AAA gave me a battery with 6 years warranty. I asked him twice and he said 6 years. I think 4-5 years is expected with my minimal usage.

    Test drove 2019 CX-5. Disappointed

CX5 GTR and CX5 Signature do not compete with any of those cars you mentioned. It does compete with the Q3, X3, NX200t / 300h, RDX,XC40 and certain Mini models.

Could really use some advice about my new CX-5 please

With the Gunk being so soft - I am not sure if something like a CRC cleaner would be preferable. Or if some occasional spirited driving would keep it clean. Yeah I am planning to drop # 3 as well unless I notice some mpg and power drop. So far at 33K miles - unless its too cold or 95F or higher...

    2019 CX-5 Diesel

It has an MSRP of 42,045 with color options being extra. I am thinking $28-30K for a brand new would be a good price. At that price it competes with the GT-R and might outmuscle the GTR due to better mileage and all that torque.

Could really use some advice about my new CX-5 please

From a view of keeping my 16 CX5 till 150K miles this is what I have on my plate excluding consumables like filter and brake pads / fluid etc. 1. TX drain and fill - twice with 2k miles gap in between. 2. Coolant as needed. 3. Walnut blasting for carbon deposits. 4. Spark plugs I have seen...

Could really use some advice about my new CX-5 please

Check if the TX was replaced by Mazda under warranty - call Mazda corporate. If the check comes out that it was Mazda then this is my answer: There were a batch of bad Transmissions and failures had happened anywhere from 10-20-30K miles. Mazda replaced it and I have not seen anyone come back...

What did you pay for your CX-5?

Bluegrass made a mistake - Selling price is 33033 + doc fee which is $499. Doc fee is not a state mandated thing in many states. Infact it is negotiable and direct profit for dealer. All others are dealer add ons - which the dealer will charge for. Now in this case and only in this case -...

    Test drove 2019 CX-5. Disappointed

Op talks about performance. I reply with a post about performance. You said why do we have to talk about performance in a thread where OP started talking about performance. #Logic If you are going to haul hay then sure interior space to the very last inch counts, but if what you are saying is...
