Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

I'll also add those new to turbo motors may not be familier with variability in power. If you have driven NA motors most of your life that are consistent in power delivery going to a turbo engine may surprise when its feel changes from one romp on the gas to another.

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

Mazda has not misled customers at all IMO. And as turbo owners, those pissed need to accept the fact a turbo motor has variable power output based on a host of factors. This is nothing new to turbo-charged engines. The computer will pull power based on enviroment/heatsoak/detonation detection...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Installed a set of those 3D all weather front mats for my 2019 GT. From walmart online they came to $62 shipped. VERY happy with the purchase. The pricing was way too good to pass up.

Lease Ending for My 2017 CX5 GT

You are only really missing out on a bit of improved gas mileage. Might as well hang onto the 17 if its treating you well.

    LOL @ Rav4

Lets also keep in mind the 2.5L NA with CD is also found in Mazda 3's, Mazda 6's, CX-30's. There are likely hundreds of thousands of these motors out there running around. These cars are used as commuters and family haulers so TONS of miles racking up on these engines as well. (These are not...

    LOL @ Rav4

Masked what? If the 2.5L CD was failure prone it would be happening constantly. Mazda found a PCM issue and corrected it.

    LOL @ Rav4

Correct, which is why the sky is falling feeling about CD failures is way overblown.

    LOL @ Rav4

ONE guy on the forum got an engine replacement. The CD issue has been remedied, there are hundreds of thousands of CD 2.5L engines in Mazda cars and the issues are actually few. I owned a Jeep Renegade for a couple years, the forums were littered with constant posts about engine problems, oil...

    Radar Cruise Control

I've seen this happen in cold temperatures or foggy conditions. Its rare but on my wifes 2018 and on a test drive of a different gen2 CX5. The system displayed a message about lower speed RCC being disabled but at highway speeds it was still fully functional. Yes the system will disable itself...

    LOL @ Rav4

Facts prove this out. Its why Mazda has zoom-zoomed it's way into the top 3 for reliability recently. My wifes 2018 CX5 Touring CPO has needed only oil changes in 33k miles so far (purchased with 8k miles on odometer in late 2018) My new to me preowed 2019 CX5 GT (13k miles at time of purchase...

    Distracted-Driver Assist Technology

So the answer to making driving safer is just let humans manually do everything as its been? Wonderful, we then can expect the usual amounts of accidents and distracted driving with sprinkles of road rage mixed it. Last night the commute was BS, I had multiple drivers swerving and cutting 3...

    Distracted-Driver Assist Technology

I'm in western MA and the Model 3 is fairly common.

    Distracted-Driver Assist Technology

As of now cars use lane markings for assisted driving, when the lane markings are incorrect it will screw up the automomus system. As tech evolves they may embed more guidance into the road as opposed to just the visual indicators. IMO I welcome these changes to make roads safer. Even when...

    2016 CX5 DRL recall announced

2 of the most common things I see on the roads.....2016 CX5's with passenger or driver side DRL LED rings out/dim and Nissan Rogues driving at night with only their DRL's on. I've seen these BOTH this week yet again.

CX-5 Android Auto / Apple CarPlay

I used Waze last night and prefer it over Google Maps while in AA mode. No lag and ran fine. The one annoyance was in the upper left hand side Waze displayed a small task bar type icon which covers the remaining mileage to destination. Also nice to see I can add an alert to other drivers about...

    What Auto Braking?

Is the bin too low? The possum last night crossing the road got lucky when I drove over it but didnt catch a wheel....CX5 didnt try to brake at all but I attribute that to it being low to the ground.

    2016 CX5 DRL recall announced

That's good news for 2016 owners. See alot of these 2016's on the roads with faded or dead DRL's.

2018 Low Mileage CX-5 engine replaced good deal?

The plus about a used Mazda is the CX5's outstanding reliability. Also new cars suffer steep depreciation especially the first 3 years. Pros/cons to each choice

CX-5 Android Auto / Apple CarPlay

Yup, this phone is quite the party! It works fine on its own (handheld mode) Google maps runs seemingly without lag. In AA it wasn't a smooth experience. The Amazon music issue is big to me and might push me to explore Google Music more. I'll be testing with Waze tonight and see if that is...

2018 Low Mileage CX-5 engine replaced good deal?

Not a good deal IMO. For reference there are a TON of slightly used 2019 CX5 GT's in the 25k range with 15-19k miles on them ($3k more then this car) This 2018 is a year older, Touring Trim, less warranty and an engine replacement. Unless you can pick this up at an even further discount (under...
