Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

    That does sound possible.

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

This almost sounds like heat soak?! But at temps around freezing and airflow from highway speeds that doesn't make sense. If this is common occurance on the turbo motor, thats very concerning.

    Radar Cruise Control

You have a very extreme view of driver/safety aids. That's your choice to enable or disable them. Just go ahead and observe what happens around you in the real world.....I see MUCH poorer examples of 100% human manual driving then if safety aides are being used. Perhaps its because I drive...

    Radar Cruise Control

This is a glass half empty view. To claim people who use Mazdas Radar CC are essentially "distracted drivers" is bs. You have also talked ill about blind side warning and other driver assists. Go back and look at aviation. No question overall safety in the sky has massively been aided by...

    Adding/Editing Maps

I usually browse the suggested routes (Fast/Short/Easy) just to see how the routing differs on the map before starting out.

What did you pay for your CX-5?

2019+ CX5's with the free XMtravelink for 3 years do indeed get live traffic and rerouting with stock NAV. Its a part of why I decided on a 2019 GT. Its been excellent so far. AA maps have tiny print in comparison so I prefer using the stock NAV.

Has Mazda changed their mind and included the NAV System on the 2020 GT and Reserve?

The SD cards do not expire but the free updates do. You can still purchase updates from Mazda after the 3 free years expire.

Lease Ending for My 2017 CX5 GT

If you bring up the stock NAV and see green lines overlaid on major roadways, or construction/lane closed icons on screen then you have real time traffic info. For 2019+ XMtravelink is a free 3 year subscription if equipped and features the fuel prices, weather radar, forcasts, etc. To my...

Lease Ending for My 2017 CX5 GT

Yes, yellow indicates slow traffic, geen indicates normal traffic flow. It will even indicate the particular lane....its a bit "cramped" on the screen but if your on a 2 lane road and the opposite direction traffic has a slowdown only that lane will be yellow.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Cool! This is like vanlife CX5 style!

Lease Ending for My 2017 CX5 GT

In my search, purchasing a new 2020 GT would have cost an additional 5k at least, for me the savings buying slightly used were well worth it as I paid cash difference after my trade. Financing deffinatly changes the equation and makes purchasing new much more attractive. Just an additional...

Lease Ending for My 2017 CX5 GT

I was looking for a pre-owned CX5 and decided on a 2019. The used CX5 pricing from 2017+ was in the lower to mid 20's. Most 2017's had 35k+ miles so out of a large portion of warranty. With 2019's hitting the pre-owned market for nearly (1-3k price difference vs a 2017) it was a no brainer...

For those eagerly awaiting Gen 3

If skyactive-x isn't taking off now....it never will imo. Disappointing considering the hype during development.

    LOL @ Rav4

Bad news for Mazda, latest CR pegs Mazda as 4th in reliability for 2020, Subaru leaped to 3rd.

What did you pay for your CX-5?

That's a fairly average price for FWD GT. NAV card should be with it, its part of the GT trim so if its missing you could ask for it as part of the sale. Trunk cover is an optional accessory so not something that comes from factory installed. If its missing NAV, that is deffinatly supposed to...

    LOL @ Rav4

Once I see frequent and consistent posts about failed 2018+ engines, then I'll worry. At this point there seems to be no more likelihood a 2.5L CD engine will fail then the previous 2.5L non-CD.

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

You might have actually stumbled upon your power problem without even realizing it on your 2017. If your engine was shaking due to the cold motor mount issue, the engine sensors VERY likely were picking it up as phantom knocking (pinging/detonation). It makes perfect sense, as the temps...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

I was unaware this same issue applied to the 2.5L NA. Personally I've never expirienced this with either my wifes 2018 or my 2019 or my former 2016 Mazda 6. All are/were driven regularly in sub freezing temperatures in Massachusetts. Could you be confusing the former (Cylinder Deactivation)...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

If this is causing power delivery problems which effect driveability then all 2.5L turbo owners need to report this to Mazda or US traffic safety. With enough noise Mazda may come out with a solution or TSB/recall etc.

Wiper Blades not made for a 2018 CX5?

The inserts seem dirt cheap compared to entire wiper replacements.
