    Question on the AWD system

What about variance between cars? That happens. My linked results are just as valid as they ones you chose. So again if the negligible FULL THROTTLE acceleration is worth a tenth of a second vs a superior drivetrain in ALL road conditions and higher resale and desirability then a FWD is the...

    Question on the AWD system

Drag racing???? If someone is drag racing a NA CX5 then they REALLY need to reevalute the purpose of purchasing a CX5 lol. 100% of the CX5's I see are family haulers and will never see the extremes of aggressive driving on the street.

    Question on the AWD system

Actually you may want to follow that advice as the OP was never asking for the merits of a FWD CX5.

    Question on the AWD system

Car and Driver recently tested another AWD CX5 and came up with better stats. Skidpad remained .82 0-60 7.9 secs 70-0 braking 169 ft https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/comparison-test/a32161895/2020-compact-crossover-comparison/

    Question on the AWD system

I fully understand, skidpad tests are more about the tire limits. In just interested in seeing the information he is presenting and from which publication.

    Question on the AWD system

I had a FWD 2016 Mazda 6 on OEM tires. It was a battle taking it out in any snow conditions. 3-4 inches of snow was enough to cause white knuckle driving. Since then between my wife and I we've had 3 AWD vehicles...her 2018 CX5, a former 2016 Jeep Renegade AWD and my 2019 CX5 GT awd. In any...

    Question on the AWD system

Again, where is the OP asking for a lecture on why you think a FWD CX5 is better? You are not "helping" the OP at all. Members have been linking videos about how the I-active AWD works in all conditions. Its very simple why the AWD is the superior driveline. It is better in all types of driving...

    Question on the AWD system

The higher initial costs for a superior drivetrain setup are WELL worth the costs overall. A FWD only SUV is a undesirable model for much of the country and caters to a smaller market share. Also I fail to see where the OP asked about any possible advantages of the FWD only model as the OP owns...

    New competitor: 2021 Toyota Venza

Price? Looks like serious competition for the CX-5.

    Question on the AWD system

e FWD also enjoys WORSE resale, WORSE poor weather driving in rain/snow and is LESS capable off a paved road. My AWD 2019GT averages over 31 mpg per tank since aquiring it in January. The added capabilities of the AWD are well worth the tiny performance loss.

Dealer has a 2019 CX-5 Diesel Signature - Nobody will buy it

If they polled potential buyers Mazda would have seen no interest in the car. It was a way to move a bunch of engines they had in stockpile. Also should have been priced identical to a NA GT/with PP.....not 10k more.

New CX-5 - When Should I really get my first oil change?

Wooooow, good catch. Stealerships strike again.

Is this a great price for a 2019 CX-5 GT?

That is an excellent price. FWD hurts the CX5 on resale but for those who don't need AWD.....it's an excellent value.

CR Talking cars, CX-5 vs CX-30

The head room wasn't the issue for me, its the Camaro like feel with less window. It felt claustrophobic.

CR Talking cars, CX-5 vs CX-30

When I was looking at replacing my former Jeep Renegade, I briefly considered a cx-30. Was immediately turned off by its visibility, we already had a 2nd Gen CX5 in the family. Personally I hated the enclosed feeling and its sedan-like height. We ended up with a 2nd CX5.....we look like huge CX5...

    2019 CX-5 stuttering wipers

I had stuttering wipers on my former Jeep Renegade even with new wipers. Now that I think of it and have read a few things about rain-x washer fluid....it may have been a contributing factor. My wifes 2018 CX5 and my 2019 CX5 just have regular washer fluid and no stuttering at all. Have you...

What did you pay for your CX-5?

We have a couple CX5's in the family, a 2018 and 2019. Both purchased pre-owned, 35k and 18k miles on them respectively. Absolutely no issues with them thus far. Both have been ECU flashed per the recall. I remember 2017 reviews knocking the gas mileage a bit, not sure how our driving styles...

CR Talking cars, CX-5 vs CX-30

I came for a CX-30 review and left appreciating the CX5 even more. Skip to the 11:55 time to get to the review. Interesting take on the newest Mazda and their impressions are similar to my thoughts on the CX-30.

Poor gas mileage, questionable coil pack, oil on spark plugs...

Wow I'd have to imagine it was over 2k pounds towing the boat+ everything else in the car and inside the boat! And over 700 miles! That likely was way to much strain. Mazda builds their cars on the edge, example the rear differential is tiny and takes a scant amount of fluid to cut down on...
