Sounds like a short has developed. Check and see if you cut a wire in the area you were working by mistake. If you have a meter see if there's a short between the positive battery cable and ground.

It would be nice if there was some way of opening all windows with the remote to let heat built up in the car out. Especially these days with the warnings about the heat.

I have had a similar noise since I've had my 2019. It seems to only come when I'm at idle and true or not I've decided it's a ventilation noise possibly coming from the gas tank. Hasn't affected anything so I ignore it.

I was told I would soon need pads and was wondering how many replaced rotors at the same time. Seems like if you take them that far apart why not replace rotors also?

I don't consider items that are replaced because of wear repairs. Mine's a 2019 and I replaced tires once. Can't count the number of oil and filter (cabin, engine) changes. Other than routine that so far is all that's been done but next tire rotation I'll replace the brakes.

I'm not an engineer but this brings to mind why didn't they just make the tensioner a spring type like so many other autos use. Maybe I'm just old and am used tocars with distributors where you had to set the point gap, dwell and replace the condenser, rotor and distributor cap. Oh well!

The automatic feature is controlled by the light stalk. It has to be in the forward position to be "on". It could be a problemwith the switch.
