What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Have plugged numerous tires over the last 15+ years or so, maybe 20 tires? I bought a kit with I think 30 plugs plus the tools, years ago, and have used about half of them plus the previous 5 pack I had before that. Never a single issue, except for that one time I had a low-profile tire...

2013~2016 Thinking of doing the driver side mirror TSB repair

that's for the entire assembly. Housing, color cap, turn signal, glass and all. KD33-69-181K is the base itself, with the wire harnesses and adjustment motor. No glass or cap or turn signal. That's why I was confused about the TSB instructions if it calls for complete mirror unit replacement.

2013~2016 Thinking of doing the driver side mirror TSB repair

I know the TSB calls for total replacement, but I don't understand why it would show instructions for removing the mirror glass, painted cap and turn signal, and installing the mirror glass, if the technician is replacing the whole mirror. The procedure looks more like it's for replacing only...

2013~2016 Thinking of doing the driver side mirror TSB repair

actually I'm wondering now if the mirror housing I see on eBay with the part number for the entire assembly, is actually from someone that had the TSB repair done, and someone took the old mirror housing and threw it in the box that the assembly came in. Meaning that it would actually be the...

2013~2016 Thinking of doing the driver side mirror TSB repair

My VIN falls in the second category on the TSB, manufactured January 2013, which indicates that my car should have the door bars already. I'm confused as to why the TSB lists the part number for what appears to be the entire mirror assembly, when it shows transferring mirror glass, turn signal...

    Ouchie!

well the labor of disassembly and reassembly should be gone, if you can do that yourself. But the paint work and prep of the body panels would still be the same. However, for the best match the panel will need to be blended into the fenders, which would require the car to be there and for them...

2013~2016 What category is interior carpet?

thanks, I did find that one but I still haven't found the carpet that attaches to the rear seats. Is it this piece, #4 in this diagram? 2013-2015 Mazda CX-5 Seat Back Assembly - Driver's Side (LH) KD33-57-450K-34 | TascaParts.com They're not showing a part number for it. The carpet on our...

2013~2016 What category is interior carpet?

I've been scouring the parts websites all morning trying to find interior carpet, either for the front passenger compartment or the rear cargo area, and I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've looked all through the Interior and Body categories and nothing. Where does interior carpet show up...

2013~2016 Thinking of doing the driver side mirror TSB repair

Did they replace the entire mirror to the one with the newer turn signal style? I believe they're used on the 2015-2016.5 models. Or did they just do the housing?

    Ouchie!

If it were me, with extensive automotive experience, I would buy the replacement parts myself, install them all, and then take it to a body shop for paint. Front OEM Mazda bumper cover is about $250 before shipping. Fog light bezel $14. Fender trim with all clips $77. That's looking them up...

    Turn off ABS?

lol wtf? The red trajectory is the exact line you would take WITHOUT ABS, because you would have no steering control. Defeating ABS on a road car, especially in low-traction conditions, is completely asinine.

2013~2016 Thinking of doing the driver side mirror TSB repair

Ever since we bought our 2014 back in 2016, the vibrating driver side mirror on the highway has been driving me nuts. I can't stand how the mirror image is so blurry compared to the inside rear view or passenger side mirror. So I'm seriously considering doing the TSB repair soon. Our car has...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Charged my Integra AC after removing the evaporator core when I replaced my heater core. Charged my wife's old Corolla AC after the compressor grenaded itself, and I installed a new compressor, drier and all new O-rings. It's pretty easy to do with a vac pump and gauge set rented from AutoZone.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

haven't had any issues with the CX-5 AC. But I have charged the AC in my Integra, wife's previous Corolla, and a Honda Civic using a vacuum pump and AC gauge set.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

haha, going on 22 years over here without ever taking any car to any mechanic for anything other than alignments, and that one time I had an AC system evacuated. I can charge AC systems myself.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

My local locksmith didn't want to program my 2nd proximity key, which I bought online. Took it to the Mazda dealer and they did it for around $160. They also cut the key blade blank that came with the remote, but they said sometimes the aftermarket remotes (it looked OEM to me??) wouldn't work...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

uh-oh, hope you're not leaking brake fluid anywhere. Generally it's not recommended to top off brake fluid, as the fluid at the low mark *should* indicate the brake pads are about spent and need replacing. Then when the brake caliper pistons are pushed back in, there will be room for the fluid...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

LED's yes, but not all LED bulbs are polarity sensitive. I have several sets of 194 LED wedge bulbs that can be installed in either direction. But apparently that's not the case with the 7443 bulbs I put in.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Forgot to update on this. I changed out the rear brake light bulbs on our 2014 CX5. The 28-LED bulbs are definitely brighter than the 27's. Crazy thing, though. That same night, before I went to bed I just happened to decide to go out in the garage and press the brake pedal just to see the...
