What have you done to your CX-5 today?

2 hours for a shop to replace a wheel hub? That sounds super speedy to me. I would expect a shop to keep the car until the next day for something like that.

2013~2016 Anyone try these headlight lens replacements?

I've done that process years ago before I knew any better. Wet sand and then polish. All the headlights I restored like that turned back yellow again within a year. And obviously so, because you're removing every last trace of the original UV protection. 2K clearcoat is the same type of...

2013~2016 Anyone try these headlight lens replacements?

nope. If I refinish I would sand with 600/800 and 2K clear coat. That would last multiple years. But honestly I'd rather replace the entire lens.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

dang that would annoy me how slow that little screen updates the reading. Looks like 1 or 2 Hz at best.

2013~2016 Anyone try these headlight lens replacements?

pffft heck no, I would retrofit HID projectors for a fraction of that price before I bought those. $1,700 that's insane. Actually I think you could buy OEM Mazda HID headlight units for less than that. They're around $600 a side if I recall.

2013~2016 Anyone try these headlight lens replacements?

My 2014 has some yellowing and degradation along the top edges of the headlight lenses. I've thought about sanding and 2K clear coating to restore them, but honestly I think new lenses would look even better. Has anyone tried any of these replacement lenses on eBay? Unfortunately they all...

Post Pictures of Your CX-5 Mods, Upgrades and Accessories!

whoa that is wild! But, racing seats and harnesses in a CX5 is a little ridiculous, and without rollover protection it's actually quite dangerous.

    SkyActiv Oil Analysis Thread

It's not nearly as much an issue in the bottle as it is in the engine. Inside the engine is where condensation can develop, or the oil can be exposed to fuel vapors and various other contaminants. I would have no issue using oil that's been on a shelf for over a year. Indeed, I buy enough...

Pedal Commander...Best Mod I have done

Sort of agree, I'm used to regular manual gearbox cars, but shifting our CX5 manually with the shifter feels weird. Maybe it would be better if our car had paddle shifters. Although I did find a good use for it when we drove the car to the Smoky Mountains last year. Going up and coming down...

High Mileage CX-5s - report in

KYB struts/shocks here also. I replaced the rears after I blew them out carrying a heavy load of lumber and concrete from the hardware store to fix a broken fence in my yard. Then a few months later I swapped out the fronts as they seemed to be making some bouncing noises/feelings over bumps.

High Mileage CX-5s - report in

Were the links and bushings visibly worn? Or were they causing other issues or symptoms? I've replaced the struts on our 2014, but haven't really looked at any bushings or end links, and we have over 125K miles on our car.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

I just saw this leather repair video last week, which could be a viable solution. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFn_cPBu-2Q

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Our 2014 was so gross, took me almost 6 hours to do a complete wash and interior detail. The interior vacuuming alone took forever.

Pedal Commander...Best Mod I have done

oh man, every time I drive our 2014 I feel like the engine lugs sometimes, like it's super hesitant to downshift when I press the pedal down. With PC does the transmission downshift more readily?

    Custom iPhone mount and charger

way too low. Too far to reach and too low to be looking down while driving. I prefer something closer to eye level, around the vent/infotainment screen area.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

lol I'm the opposite. I like to see the brakes. I still remember as a kid in the late 80's and early 90's, when aluminum wheels became more common on cars, how I thought it was so cool to be able to see the brake discs and calipers behind the wheel spokes. I used to draw cars all the time...

    Custom iPhone mount and charger

I saw those but don't like the idea of my charge cable having to drape across the steering column. And I also like to have the phone in the middle in case my wife needs to enter something on the screen while we're driving.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Nice fitment. What's the wheel offset, or did you use any spacers? Wheel style isn't really my cup of tea, though. Looks like cleaning will definitely be a chore.
