Help Me Decide: CX-5 vs. CR-V

The 2018 Camry will have a 10-inch HUD. HUD will be a standard feature in a few years.

So, umm, the car hunt, I dunno

Final thoughts, and conclusion. First, the cars. The Malibu is a legit, good car. It drove well, gets good mileage and performs decently. I stopped by a lot to look at colors yesterday and I was impressed by all of them (the chevy site doesn't do pepperdust justice). On the way back though...

So, umm, the car hunt, I dunno

I hear ya! The problem is actually two use cases. One is my commute, the other is around town and weekend use. Why the 2017 CX-5 was interesting is that it shows promise of merging the two. Then I drove a sedan and realized how much better that experience was and here we are. I got time, no...

    Extended warranty: yay or nay?

What if they offered you lifetime coverage, bumper to bumper, at any dealer for $100? Don't buy it because it's not from Mazda? You should jump at that right? Of course maybe your car only generates $50 of repair costs for that $100 so it's still a bad value. I should leave this thread. I...

    Extended warranty: yay or nay?

A long time ago I sold extended warranties. It's different today but there was a lot, a really lot, of profit in them. They say it's less today. Anyways, the way you have to think about it is. Likelihood of problems * cost to repair problems = cost of warranty The problem is that you can't...

So, umm, the car hunt, I dunno

I've done that, several times, actually, and I know it's a weird pairing. :D

Help Me Decide: CX-5 vs. CR-V

I'm thinking about doing it on a 15. But, I gotta admit, I'm having to think pretty hard about it.

Help Me Decide: CX-5 vs. CR-V

Off-topic, but on the raising of the bar thing. My first car was a Mercury Capri hand me down from my father, fast, unsafe and a complete turd. If you took a turn between 35 and 45 the steering wheel would shake, and I don't mean lane assist like, literally bounce in your hands an inch or two...

    2017 CX-5 "Grand Select"

I do not approve of this.

Help Me Decide: CX-5 vs. CR-V

He's over on the CR-V forums, saying that he's going to get a CR-V, but he took a couple of potshots at the car while doing so. Basically, they're telling him to get a CX-5. I stopped following it so I don't know what he did or if he ever intended to buy one.

Help Me Decide: CX-5 vs. CR-V

Had to deliver something to my father's doctor for him. They have a small lot, maybe 15 cars and there were three CX-5's, including mine. No, 2017's and no CR-V's.

So, umm, the car hunt, I dunno

I should have seen the reliability response coming. I had the same reaction the first time I saw a Malibu at the top a reliability list, WAT THE...... It's more logical than it seems if you dig a bit but it's hard to believe because most of us have probably owned complete pieces of American...

So, umm, the car hunt, I dunno

I'm not. The one I used is kind of awkward to find. If I find it again I'll post it. But, really it doesn't matter, unless there was some extreme shift, like the Malibu trailing parts behind it, or the CX-5 being bulletproof, it wouldn't be a deal changer to me.

So, umm, the car hunt, I dunno

JD Power on reliability, though I have to admit it's projected on the 2017's, which I think was 3 on the 2017 CX-5 (CR had it higher if I'm remembering correctly). Chevrolet / GM have improved, a lot. I've done a lot of digging on it and their cars seem much more solid today . I wrote off...

So, umm, the car hunt, I dunno

I came back here after reading about the new quietness of the 2017. My CX-5 has pretty much worn me down during my commute. I've dug, hunted, pecked, read articles, watched videos. I've built spreadsheets, scored them, drove them and it's come down to two completely different vehicles: Mazda...

    2017 lane keep assist

My experience on the test drives was pretty much this. Mazda, you barely know it's happening, but it does adjust. Honda, it steers you through the turn, and, it made me force it into the next lane, it really wanted me to turn on the blinker.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

OK, but the math still needs to be, kind of, mostly, there. As well as the convenience. For me I simple don't have the resources to easily plug-in. I'd, literally have to run an extension cord over my deck and down to the car to change in my apartment. A full charge at work would take about...

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

The problem is the pricing structure. The price difference between PHEV and Hybrid is almost exactly the tax credit and, sometimes, you lose features, although you do get the diamond lane. And then you have to plugin, somewhere. I live in an apartment, no plugin. There is a single station...

Considering new CX5 - Nervous with last CX9 experience

Do a search on JD Power reliability study. It can be a bit confusing to find. Basically, they said the 2015 was solid, the 2016 not so much and no rating on the 2017. I've been looking at a lot of cars, one that came up was the fusion plugin. I started reading about it and, man, just bad...

Help Me Decide: CX-5 vs. CR-V

Those are probably the only picture's with tangible meaning to me in all of this, unless tex produces a picture of a dusty red CX-5. The damn brake is too close to the gas pedal in the Mazda, something these pictures actually show. I've pressed both at the same time. Not that I've ever come...
