    Winter tires on GT

I would not go 19'' for sure, I am planning to use the 17'' inch wheels I had on the Outlander. I am shopping for some Nokian Hakka R 225-65-17.

Are ya'll sticking with synthetic oil?

really why bother ? they say synthetic why not put synthetic and for the price difference, I don't really see the point of this argument...oil change is $50 at the dealer all in full synthetic (just did the first 8000km one and I was surprised because it was close to a $100 on the Subaru..)

    CX-5 Lowering Springs

personnaly I think the drop is too much, half of that would be my max for the Cx-5 (1.5 and 2 inches).

    Winter Treads

well I had Nokian Hakka 5 on my Outlander, I did 5 winters on them (I still had about 4-5/32 left on them, but I was going to change them but we sold the car). If the Michelin can match that, it is a good deal considerering the price. :)

    Winter Treads

I have started to look, at 1786$ I hope it is with alloy wheels ? !! otherwise stay away from that dealer. steel wheels should be about 50 to 70$ in 17" size, and winter tires should be between 150 and 220$ depending on what you want. As for alloys, decent ones can be bought for about 150$...

    Ok, Gas Mileage SUCKS!

totally agree with Ta240, it is highly dependent on how you drive it. don't drive like if you stole it ;) personally, I drive a lot more carefully than with my previous car, anyway the car doesn't have the engine power, and I am achieving pretty satisfactory milleage, for sure higher than...

Any product necessary for interior plastic/rubber care?

presently using Wolfgang Vinyl & Rubber Protectant and I am pretty satisfied so far. But I have not tried 100 off stuff, I am sure there many good ones. I may try Carpro products next time since i want to order their IronX product to clean the white paint. got it form eshine.ca

    CX-5 Roof Racks

no the holes are already there beneath the plastic strips, same holes where the grey roof rails attach. I personally prefer the grey roof rail solution since it allows the cross bar to be removed, with the other solution you would need something to plug the holes when you remove the rack. But...

what other car(s) did you consider?

Subaru Outback 3.6: fuel consumption, but great car, I had 2 subarus before. BMW X1 : A bit too expensive when you start to put equipment in....but very nice car. Audi A3: a bit too small Mini Countryman S ALL4: see A3 VW Golf Wagon TDI: a bit boring to look at

    What are the chances.....

The wheels need to be 5x114.3 bolt patterns with an offset of at least 35 (stock are 50). I am pretty sure 16" rims would fit. As for tires, always try to keep the same overall diameter http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html 235-70-16 is only 0.7" bigger which is acceptable. I have not...
