    Key Battery

Makes sense! Cx5 is parked in the driveway and keys are hanging just inside front door, maybe 15-20 ft from the car.

    Key Battery

Have had our 19 awd touring for 5 months and 17k miles (bought new), and already got a low key fob battery warning. Using the second fob for now but this cant be normal, can it?

2017~2025 What is the best fuel for longevity of the 2.5 Turbo?

Chevron supreme...but will only increase longevity if you are experiencing detonation on other fuels. On my friends tuned wrx that requires 91 octane, there was less measured knock on his tuner using chevron 91 than other 91 octane fuels (in California). This is the reason I run only Chevron 91...

Keep Using "Mazda Full Synthetic 0W-20 Gf-5 With Moly Engine Oil" for oil changes?

Only downside to running Mazda moly 0w20 is the cost. But honestly any API certified 0w20 synthetic should do just fine with factory recommended intervals based on use, especially if it has the dexos 1 gen 2 certification. So far in 4.5 months have 16k miles on our 19 touring and heres what Ive...

2018 CX-5 Anyone worried about the Unintended Acceleration/Service Brakes problem?

If it makes you feel any better, 12k miles on our 19 touring awd in 3.5 months and not a single issue thus far (had recall done). Never experienced anything remotely resembling unintended acceleration. Some people like to put down others cars to make themselves feel better about what they spent...

Possible to add memory driver seat?

Is it possible to add driver seat/mirror memory to a 19 touring awd? Obviously would be cost prohibitive if all new wiring, etc were needed, but hoping that maybe a new driver seat with memory controls and a software flash would do the trick. Anybody know?

First oil change with low mileage use

You can look up pretty much any first oil change uoa on any engine and see the wear metals in the sample. These wont necessarily do any harm, but I see no reason to leave them in for several thousand miles. To each their own...

First oil change with low mileage use

Changed at 2k with Mazda moly 0w20, then again at 5k with Idemitsu Zepro 0w20 high moly (supposed to be same as Mazda oil). Only like to change early to get break-in wear metals out.

    2017~2025 Reaching That Mileage Milestone...

Nice! How long u had the car? What year? Any issues? Our 19 touring will likely hit 36k before a year is up. Currently at 12k in just over 3 months

    Engine Breaking, New Car

Engine braking is the BEST way to properly break in an engine. That and varying rpm. I would use engine breaking as must as possible over the first 500-1000 miles, but switch gears from time to time to vary rpm as well. Have used this approach on every new vehicle weve had, the oldest of which...

Dangerous cylinder deactivation trouble on 2018 CX-5 and Mazda6 models

I still think you guys are freaking out too much about the CD thing. Until we see issues on cars after recall is done, I wouldnt worry too much about it. I would much rather have cylinder deactivation than auto stop/start...

    Smooth Wheel

Agreed...the leather almost has the softness of nappa and Im a big fan. My lady wanted to get a wheel cover to preserve the leather but it was vetoed bc I like the feel. Told her if it wears out someday well but a new one Prefer the steering wheel of our 19 cx5 touring to the wheel in my 16...

    Warranty Length

If one were to buy a cx5 in Canada and bring it to the states, would they get the unlimited mile 3yr/5yr warranties? At 35k+ miles per year that wouldve been a sweet deal for us.

    Ferrari wheel experiment failed (sorta)

There was someone on the wheel & tire picture thread that was running a 9.5 wide rear wheel (45mm offset) with 275 mm tires and no fitment issues. Guess the extra 1/2 of wheel width and even more so the +7.5mm offset are what made this a no-go. Oh well...have a pretty good idea what direction...

    Ferrari wheel experiment failed (sorta)

Always liked those andros wheels and briefly looked for some replicas in 5x114 with no success. Not sure Id ever use wobble bolts though...seem a bit sketchy
