    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

Well I’ve been busy as noted above, but there were more things that cropped up that held up this project. Finally was able to get back into this a few days ago. There are three gaskets needed for the inlet pieces to the ‘charger, as well as the outlet manifold on top of the ‘charger. The first...

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

Which problem? Because there was more than one in there. ;) Well it’s taken me a little longer than planned to dive into this, due to working on other things, dealing with some cold both weather related and physically, and generally dealing with recovering after being away from home for so long...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Replaced both license plate light bulbs. Mazda really went out of their way to make that small job difficult. Didn't see the type of bulb listed anywhere in the owner's manual but the lighting book at the parts store took care of that. FYI, it's 2825.

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

Ha. Ha. Ha... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!! We're talking about the woman who disparagingly called it my "superdupercharger" when I was having problems getting it right in the early days. More like, she didn't feel like moving it past that point.

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

Finally unwrapped the beast. I swear my grandmother wrapped it (the woman knew how to wrap things), I lost count of how many times I unwound the plastic from the body. Got it all undone and enjoyed the beauty. The new parts are internal so I couldn't really see much beyond the newly-coated...

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

I'm sure none of us have ever, oh, baked a paint application in the oven while our wife was gone. The smell is what gives that away, although if you have some Hoppe's #9 handy that usually overpowers anything else.

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

Got home last night, as per usual coming from halfway around the world I woke up after only a couple of hours of sleep. Started looking for things I have bought, including the supercharger, but it wasn't in the garage. Took a few minutes but I found my bride had left it in the kitchen...

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

Thanks guys. It's all good, in the single digits now. Flying home Tuesday.

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

As it turns out I won't be home as anticipated. Should have been sitting in my chair typing this, instead I'm on the ship for another two weeks or so. Y'all will have to find another thread to jack.

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

And just like that, I got threadjacked. I would be in for a fall visit, work schedule depending.

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

I'd just be happy with fewer RVs.

That just means you're old. I can always go back to that MO...

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

Well I'm not home yet but I figured I'd post so those who are stopping by know when they might see something here. Got about another month before I get home and one of the first orders of business will be to get the supercharger installed again, weather permitting. I have something else on the...

    ND MX-5 Jeff's 2016 ST GT Build

I'm right there with you on that, but I will be sure to be BEHIND you the next time we are on a drive together. Of course the last time I did that I almost got run into the side of the hill by an RV during MATG...

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

Here’s some pictures of what I did with the foam and mounting for the MS3: Haven’t noticed any problems with it yet. Changed back to my silver wheels yesterday and gave her a going to sleep nap this morning. I did finally get notice that my supercharger is headed to me (supposedly it was...

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

Ended up using some zip-ties to mount the MS3 to the underside of the steering column. I used what I had on hand, this morning while out for a test drive I stopped by Ace and got some long, wide zip-ties. I’m going to redo the mounting also using some 1/16” foam I have to provide some cushioning...

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

I got in touch with the builder of my MS3 to seek his help with my non-start issue. After five days or so of back-and-forth e-mails (time differences suck for that), we established that my fuel pump wasn’t operating. To check the pump itself was fine, I made a wire to jump out the F/P and GND...

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

After the weatherstrip was installed I went back to the MS install. This entailed installing my AEM Uego wideband and getting it all wired up. Did that and did the basic steps in getting the MS set up. Once that was done I turned the key and she fired up. Briefly any way, the revs slowly died...

    NB MX-5 Hey, it's Minnie!

At that point I decided to take a little break to work on something simpler. My windshield header weatherstrip was showing signs of wear so I decided to replace that. Here is the part number for it: I bought it online from a dealer near me and picked it up in person. With that in hand I...
