Anyone replace the tires yet on their 2018+ Mazda6?

This is why I almost never buy the same brand and model tires as the OEM set, as they generally do not last even 30,000 miles. The good news is that I don't put more than 3000 miles on my 3 per year.

Anyone replace the tires yet on their 2018+ Mazda6?

I was referring to old tires that are great when new. Many people marvel at how good almost any tires are when new, compared to more expensive tires that were 6 years old and with 50,000 miles on them. Even good tires (not all, but some) get bad as they wear.

Anyone replace the tires yet on their 2018+ Mazda6?

Remember that older tires with lots of miles on them will often: 1. Make more noise 2. Exhibit sloppier handling/gets more slippery since the rubber loses its plasticizers 3. have longer braking distances Now if you had the lower profile 45-series tires of the same make, I'd bet they'd be even...

1999 Protege 1.8L Transmission issues? Help!

Are there any junk yards in your area? One thing I forgot to mention is that the mechanic should've focused entirely on the main issue. It looks like he swapped out parts without really knowing if any was the real cause. Some quandaries require certain mechanics. If I have any issues with...

    2019 Mazda3 sedan wiper failure

Have you tried silicone blades? Silicone has a much wider temperature range than does most other elastomers.

Anyone replace the tires yet on their 2018+ Mazda6?

Are they for a Mazda 6? I'm a bit surprised that you are going with 55-series tires. Wouldn't steering sharpness be dulled?

    2019 Mazda3 sedan wiper failure

Yes, the wiper motor never failed. The last blades I installed were silicone blades from Tirerack. They tend to last a long time.

Mazda3 Rough idle when brake pedal is pressed

But with a Mazda 3? Highly unlikely but of course, anything is "possible".

Mazda3 Rough idle when brake pedal is pressed

I haven't seen anyone else with 2010-2013 having that problem. My 1989 MX6 GT was 25 years old when I sold it and it had never had a leaking brake booster. By all means though you should have it checked. It could be a vacuum line that popped off its fitting.

Anyone replace the tires yet on their 2018+ Mazda6?

They tend to give me a great deal without any negotiating. That wasn't the case, many years ago but it is now after buying tires for three vehicles over the last 15 years.

Picked up my new 22 GT

I sold the 68 Corvette in 2001, right before I bought a new 2001 C5 Z51-optioned Coupe. You are correct in that the 68 was the first model year of the C3. The problem was with its brake light switch which burned out every couple of years. In my younger years I could leave the driver's seat in...

Picked up my new 22 GT

That's a good point. When I bought the 68 Corvette I was living in Connecticut, so I quickly realized that having that as my only vehicle was not going to "cut it" when it snowed. So I bought a 1968 Mercury Cougar for $300. Maybe you'll have a used MX5 and your CX5 someday. You can call them the...

Picked up my new 22 GT

That's a great summary, mrplt. What difference a few generations make. When I was 19 I bought my first car, a 1974 Mazda RX4 coupe. Whin two years I bought a 1968 Corvette Convertible. Sports cars are in my blood, I guess. My son's first car was a 1997 Honda Civic CX Hatch (manual transmission)...

    2019 Mazda3 sedan wiper failure

That would've been an extremely rare occurrence! I once owned a 1989 Mazda MX5 GT Turbo until 2014 and its wipers were still perfect. Granted, we don't get any rain from April until November here in Southern Cali.......:)

    ND MX-5 Mark’s 2016 ND Build

Joe, I haven't gone through all your posts, so I am wondering if you installed forced induction yet. I toured Edelbrock's factory and test facilities a while back and was very impressed. I like their supercharge for the ND MX5s but the OEM transmission apparently can't take too many hard shifts...

Ah, that's what I thought. Wiper motors can last a long time unless you live in Seattle. :)

Ah, so it could be a loose linkage. Can you take a look at the mechanical linkages? I doubt that there are two motors, one for each side.
