Need help with "End of life" decision - Transfer Case + Transmission 08 CX-9 AWD

yes you can remove the driveshaft, in fact, you don't really have the choice... The light won't show on the dash as long as you keep the rear diff in place. The light will flash for 10 seconds if it needs the awd and realises it doen't work (like if you accelerate quickly on slippery road) but...

    2007~2015 Weird electrical problem

I really am clueless about all of this, this is the first time i see something like that on these cars. Best would be to find an other CX9 and swap over some of the electronic until you find the defective one but that is not an easy task.

    2007~2015 Weird electrical problem

it certainly has nothing to do with the transfer case but seems like an ecu or something is going wrong. I am afraid that is not going to be an easy one to fix.

Diagnosing lack of AWD: Pics and symtoms

yeah sorry didn't read that right, yes just take out driveshaft and you are done, nothing special to do afterwards. I wouldn't mind as a buyer having the transfer case off if it come with the car, what would bother me is someone putting it back and not declare the awd doesn't work

Diagnosing lack of AWD: Pics and symtoms

yes you can leave the the transfer case off as well as the driveshaft. As far as the rear diff goes, i personnally left mine in place because if you take it out, you will need to remove the rear axles and the rear axles also have the teeth for the ABA so if you remove the rear axles, you will...
