CX-9 2013 GT AWD - Shudder in drivetrain

doesn't sound like transfer case but have you done the obvious? change the plugs or the transmission fluid? Do you have any codes?

2007~2015 Presentation and a couple of questions

There is no real data as to how many failed or not so it is an impossible question to answer, not everyone come on this forum and most that do, usually came because they had a problem so i doubt it is representative of how it really is. I had a 2007 and failed on the transfer case and...

3.7L CX-9, oil leaking from front of engine?

no, i cleaned it a bit lately to see if that was the problem and then i forgot about it, didn't drive the truck much and some day i realised there was oil on the floor of the garage so the leak definately came back. I just didn't drive it enough yet to see a leak since i cleaned it with brake...

3.7L CX-9, oil leaking from front of engine?

well i used some engine cleaner last time and it wasn't a success in term of cleaning the engine. Now i tried the brake cleaner and man that stuff works! Now that it is clean, i let the engine run for a little bit and didn't see anything, went for a ride and didn't see anything so i guess i will...

2007~2015 CX-9 Rear diff problem solved

hmm yeah just saw that lol, i didn't remember it gave me a code, well maybe you are right after all. It might be something inside the diff. Honestly from that point i don't really know as if the wire was cut, seems like yes you would get a code. sorry i can't be of more help

2007~2015 CX-9 Rear diff problem solved

i don't think you'll get an obd code with this problem as it is not engine related. I'd say try to lower the front of the diff to see if the wires seems so start to cut, they usually cut right where they enter the diff. They start to corrode first.

    2012 CX-9 4wd light blinks when slippery

Could be but the only reported problem with the rear diff is usually the wire for the solenoid that gets cut and when that happens you get a solid 4wd light. If the splines are out, there is still a little bit of friction which would be enough to turn the driveshaft but not the rear wheels. You...

    2012 CX-9 4wd light blinks when slippery

It definitely is the transfer case, look at all the posts in this section, there are plenty of threads and info on this problem. You might have also chewed the transmission splines which would mean a new transmission if you want to recover your awd. No way to know if you also need this untlil...

    Coolant leak

Hard to tell, have you tried to just put an additional collar on the hose? Sometimes the deposits of a small leak prevents the hose from sitting evenly, you can clean it and use a regular hose clamp which will adjust even if the hose is a little compressed compared to the OEM clamp.

    Coolant leak

i just replaced that fitting, it is not a hard job, it is only one bolt to the top of the beam. Just use some vice grip on each side so you don't drop all the coolant. Part number CY0115520B. part number 16

Car takes several seconds to start when cranking

if you find a way to check the fuel pressure, you could check if you lose your fuel pressure after the car is turned off. I beleive the fuel pressure should stay for a little while in the lines. It might be it or not but that's the only thing that comes to my mind. I beleive there is some sort...

2007~2015 Changing CX-9 transfer case gear oil (photos)

The support for the right axle is on the engine block, not the PTU itself, they are wrong. Also, the right shaft goes through the PTU. They can't see it from underneath if they never did a job like this, you can remove the right drive axle without taking out the PTU. There are 2WD CX9 and they...

2007~2015 Changing CX-9 transfer case gear oil (photos)

That is correct, you do have to remove the passenger front axle in order to remove the PTU but you put it back on afterwards.

    2013 PTU replacement

Usually it is the transmission splines that give first as they rust and get destroyed into little rust powder, the chewed splines in the TC is the result of the pieces of metal in the transmission's output that runs around in there. The TC slips and then it is pretty much over.

    2013 PTU replacement

looking at the splines, i am afraid your transmission splines will be shot too, your new transfer case will probably not be usefull for long
