I expect it's a bypass setting. It's still looking for the key fob. I have not seen that happen on my CX-5 nor my wife's 2018 CX-9.

Yes. If you install ADP 4A firmware on your Japanese import it will work fine. It will also adjust your radio frequencies to AU/NZ bands.

I’ve had the 3D Maxpider mats and this bumper guard (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N813HY0) on my CX-5 for 5 years. Zero complaints and bumper guard is perfect.

That's usually an indication of a bad/incompatible USB drive. Is it less than 16gb and formatted to FAT32? Make sure you are following the directions for the more recent firmware (.UP files versus the older failsafe versions).

I realize you posted this awhile ago, but thank you for this. Picked up both sockets for around $70. I have zero issues buying quality, recommended tools! The cost was easily justified as I’m going my wife’s CX-9 and my CX-5 at the same time. These will definitely get use!

I saw that as well, but I have seen plenty of instances where the 2.5L used the DILKAR7M8 plugs without issue. Hence, my dilemma and confusion :)

OK, just need some clarifications as I seemed to have confused myself :) I need to change both my wife's plugs (2018 CX-9 2.5L) and mine (2019 CX-5 2.5T). Are these both the NGK 90288 (DILKAR7M8) plugs or does our CX-9 need the 94124 (ILKAR711) ones? I am seeing posts all over the place and...

My understanding is that you can. Keep in mind you will lose Japanese radio stations if you choose to go that route (due to frequency differences).
