2016~2023 CX-9 Engine coolant temperature sensor

Hey guys, hoping to get some help from the community on this one. I can't seem to find the location of the coolant temperature sensor on the engine. Everything I could find on the Internet shows the location of the sensor on the previous gen, or the location of the sensor on a 2.5 non-turbo...

    Mike's 2018 CX-9 Signature

Tested yesterday with a multimeter. Reads 0.09v. I think I did it right lol. According to what I've read, if it's below 0.40v then the coolant is still good.

    Mike's 2018 CX-9 Signature

You know I didn't even think to test it, but I'll do it later today. I decided to leave the car at home until I can sort this out to avoid making the problem worse. Nope, I've never done a coolant flush. But I did top it up a few years ago when it looked low. For now I'll try swapping out the...

CX‑90 Safety Issues and Corporate & Dealer Negligence

It is unfortunate, but car dealerships do have the right to refuse service with or engage with customers if that's what they decide. Sorry you're having such a terrible time with that dealer, they sound awful. You should indeed be getting better support from your dealer. I found this reddit...

    Mike's 2018 CX-9 Signature

It was quiet for a while, but I've got a new issue. Hopefully I'm on the right track to get it resolved though. Over the weekend, the car's engine temp readout was showing higher than usual. Normally its right at 90 degrees and stays there when the engine is at normal operating temp, but it...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

So, it turns out that my current dashcam (Viofo A129 Duo) is on it's last legs. The camera does not want to stay on when plugged into it's base. It'll start up, but as soon as it's done the boot sequence it'll power down slowly. Then it'll try to restart itself and the same thing will keep...

    87 vs 91 Octane and 2.5T Torque/RPM specs

Everyone drives differently, but I wasn't explaining how I drive. I was explaining the general driving behaviour of a city driver. I suppose I could be more specific there - what I meant was that in densely packed urban settings, traffic lights and speed limits make it more difficult to reach...

    87 vs 91 Octane and 2.5T Torque/RPM specs

Regarding the 2000 vs 2500 RPM change in torque feel, you're saying that with 87 octane, it feels like the turbo kicks in at 2000 RPM, but when you use 91+, the turbo kicks in at 2500 RPM instead? That, to me, makes a lot of sense. If you're a city driver, it makes sense to run 87 and keep the...

    Post your Mazda Photos

The above pics were taken in 2018. Top is the original, bottom is photoshopped to see what it would have looked like lowered. Below is a current pic, 7 years later with a different set of wheels and actually lowered. It makes me smile.

    Maintenance Schedule Questions

By default, all owners should follow the maintenance schedule and recommended services in the Owner's Manual. That should be everyone's starting point. Following the schedule issued by the Manufacturer ensures that your factory warranty isn't voided. Preventative maintenance that goes above and...

How easy is DIY for the spark plugs?

Just a reminder here for everyone to be mindful of your tone when commenting - not only your intended tone but how it may be perceived by others. Light "jabs" are ok, but if someone is genuinely looking for answers and instead gets "jabs" from a couple of people, it puts them on the defensive...

How easy is DIY for the spark plugs?

Callisto isn't on this forum. In fact I think the account he used to join here was banned a year or two ago. Changing spark plugs is actually quite easy on this engine. You'll need the following: Spark plugs x4 1/4" or 3/8" drive ratchet with 6" (or longer) extension 8mm and 10mm sockets 14mm...

    Maintenance Schedule Questions

If something bad is happening with the drivetrain, it's already too late. Replacing ATF is a preventative measure, just like replacing differential oil and engine oil are preventative measures. Mazda does say that the fluid is a lifetime fluid that doesn't need to be changed, but I wouldn't risk...
