What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Cleaned the throttle body. This is what 170,000 miles of carbon looks like.

Seeking Retrofit CarPlay Module Install Instructions?

I wouldn't lie! I have Kenwoods in my cars, and to me, they're the best radios on the market right now. And this coming from a guy that ran nothing but Alpine since like 1992 when I could first afford one!

Seeking Retrofit CarPlay Module Install Instructions?

Yes it is. They make dash kits for the cars, you just have to make sure you get either an "L" shaped radio or a shallow mount. The problem a lot of people have is they try to use a generic no-name Chinesium unit off of Amazon. A new QUALITY radio that actually works is pretty much plug and play.

I'm also in SC. In a car, 35% on is as dark as we can go. On a van or SUV, 35% on the front windows, the rear windows and back can be as dark as you want. Anything on any windshield is strictly banned.

Seeking Retrofit CarPlay Module Install Instructions?

It's a lot easier and cheaper to just throw a Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, Sony, or JVC in the car and call it a day.

Amplifier install on 2016 CX-5 Bose with PAC AOEM-MAZ2 adapter

When I was running a factory head unit, I hooked the amp's remote wire to a switched 12V fuse in the fuse box. When the key is switched on, the amp turns on. When the key is switched off, the amp then turns off. Use a fuse tap, it's easy.

    CX-7 Transmission fluid change…Should I?

I've read some really bad takes but this has got to be the worst. Wow. If that's true, just throw some $3 Type F in there and call it a day. Oh wait, this whole TSB thing that Mazda put out that specifically says to not use multi-grade ATF, and to only use type M5. Just ignore that, amirite...

    CX-7 Transmission fluid change…Should I?

NOT using Mazda ATF is a false economy. Sure, $18 for a quart of Mazda ATF x 4 plus the filter is $100. Not cheap. But you know what's SUPER not cheap? A $3,000 transmission. Just use the stuff that your owner's manual tells you to use. Besides, you're only changing it every 30,000 miles, far...

Off Topic Got a car and first time in over 15 years, it wasn't a Mazda

Correct. The 997.2 has a completely different engine design than the 996 and 997.1 Much less susceptible to bore scoring, and the 997.2 doesn't even have an IMS bearing like the earlier cars do. And I guarantee you I paid less money for this car than what a new F150 or Tundra coats. Way, *way*...
