What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Thinkware products are the same as are most systems these days. Are the dash cams with an internal 3.7V battery still being sold?

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Yep, I'm using the exact same set up only using Thinkware F800 cameras on both of my vehicles. The only thing I did differently on both vehicles was to put in a cut off switch in the main hot wire so that when I am parked for an extended period of time in the garage, the entire system is off.

    Colors-WHY?

Parchment is definitely more white than tan regarding the Mazda. Mazda's parchment is actually White with a hint of Gray. I guess it could be referred to as extremely light gray. I just see it as white with a hint of gray. There are other colors called "Parchment" that are white with a hint...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Definitely sounds like he could have been messing with you. Were you following too closely and perhaps he wanted to warn you or do you think he was just wanting to start something? In the event of a collision, a dash cam could have helped you or not, depending on your proximity to him initially.

    Front Windshield

I do have the tool from Stoner and have used it a few times. However, I find that using some paper towels, slightly dampened with the Stoner solvent works just as well. I simply force the towels between the dash and windshield a few times, working them back and forth until I get the required...

Rain sensing wipers - What am I doing wrong?

My auto wipers also work flawlessly, however, I don't usually have them activated. The reason is the fact that they will come on before the windshield is fully blasted with rainwater. In many instances, there is a lot of dirt and grit that has settled on top of the wiper blades and if it is...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

No, there aren't any particular problems that are worse here as opposed to the rest of the country. It's just nice to have the video of the car in the event of a parking lot problem while away from the vehicle. I have the cameras set up so that they will be awakened while parked if anything...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Installed both Front and Rear Dash Cams today. Used Thinkware, F800 and F800R, The front was very easy. The rear took a while threading the cable to the back window. Wanted to do it right.

Windshield Scratches after using ice scraper

It would appear that you had some dirt under the ice. Check with a glass repair shop to see if the scratches are too deep to polish out. Other wise, a new windshield is in order.

    BLACK Interior

The 17 and 18 CX-5 offers Parchment interior. It is more of a white with a grayish hue as opposed to tan. It's in my 18 CX-5. I love it and am so happy that I was finally able to get away from that drab looking tan or black. I would imagine the Parchment is still available for the 19 MX-5.

    The CX-5 LED Lighting Thread

Somewhere in this forum, a month or two ago, I posted a DIY for LED turn signals. For the life of me, I can't find it now. The bottom line is this; only one (1) resistor is necessary per side, not per bulb. I posted some pictures also, showing that there is plenty of room to install that...

Need Advice, Power Wire through Firewall?

For sure. I was extremely careful when I was prodding that area. My puncture efforts were aimed more to the side of the rubber grommet which is why the rubber is so thick there. Was staying as far away from the wire bundle as possible. In the past, about half of my trailer wiring efforts...

Need Advice, Power Wire through Firewall?

Thanks for responding. I saw that and apparently the Gen 2 is the same. However, it is apparently very thick. I tried to penetrate it with a heavy duty coat hanger wire to no avail. I may try it again tomorrow after I grind a sharp point on the end of it.

Need Advice, Power Wire through Firewall?

I installed my DrawTite hitch yesterday and have almost all of the trailer wiring completed except.......................... Got to the interior firewall and cannot find a place to thread the power wire through to the battery. This is the 5th trailer wiring that I have installed over the years...

2018 CX-5 GT Rear Bumper Protection Strip Recommendations

And, in the event that the receiving surface is cold, it should be warmed up with either a hair dryer or heat gun before the tape touches it. 3M tape is absolutely fantastic. I keep several roles of it in varying widths at all times.
