Its cosmetic, yes. Standard on the GT trim.

    What fuel grade?

Correct! Use a good quality 87 octane fuel. Premium will make it run hotter...not good.

    CD changer + Bass

The Bose + Bass works just fine for me too. I have a Bazooka powered sub with a controller unit that I can sell to you for $100. Nothing will fit under the 3rd row. Your best bet for any sub is somewhere in the trunk area.

New Transmission - was Check Engine light

If they're replacing the Transmission with a brand spanking new one, it is okay. These Japanese (Aisin Seiki Co, Ltd) transmissions are very strong and go into numerous high end cars such as Audi, Cadillac CTS, STS, BMW 5 & 7-series and several Hybrids. This is most likely a Technician error.

    Blind Spot Monitor

Aye...lets not get so sensitive about Blind Spot system. The whole reason why this thread was started was to provide some information on the availability on the BSM. Apparently, it is atleast 4 weeks out, maybe longer, and if someone needed to buy a CX-9 right away, they could buy one without...

    Rear view camera

Aye yaye yaye... :) Anyways...going back to the original issue at hand. I took my CX-9 to the dealer to have the rearview camera angle checked out. They said that the camera is operating as designed by Mazda and is within specification. The reason it is angled is because the camera is not...

    Thanks Everyone...

Are you serious?! :bs: Comparing the top of the line CX-9 GT AWD with Base MDX, the price difference is: $3,700 + tax = approx $4,000. Add Mazda's 1.9% financing which adds atleast $3k-$4k in interest savings. Note: I've added the Bose+Sunroof+Autodim mirror (which are standard on MDX)...

Questions about the Shock Sensor and Remote Start Options

The remote start is a seperate fob. With GT Advanced Key, the OEM kit is your best option. I would either (a) have the dealer do the install or (b) take the OEM instructions+kit to a reputable mobile installer & have them install it for you.

    Protege5 Trade-In Valuation?

Why in the world to you need a "Shock Sensor"? Also, an aftermarket remote start will NOT work properly with your Mazda Advanced Key system. Stick to OEM. Cargo Net cost me $32. VIN etching, Teflon & Extended Warranties are a waste of money. Say no to all of those. I would (a) Order a CX-9...

New Transmission - was Check Engine light

The Aisin/Warner 6-speed transmission uses a different (JWS3309-compatible fluid) compared to "regular" ATX fluid. A single half a cup of the WRONG fluid will completely destroy the transmission by causing the clutch packs to lock up, requiring a complete rebuild/replacement of the transmission...

    New owner...only for 2 years

You're right http://autos.msn.com/advice/article.aspx?contentid=4022023 I guess according to Mazda a 2008 will depreciate slightly more ($700) than a comparably equipped 2007? Didn't they increase the '08 MSRP whereby increasing the Invoice approx $700? Hmm... co-incidence?

I like the Pearl White better on CX-9 compared to Murano...which is little yellow'ish. I used to own a 1999 Pearl White Maxima SE-L which is more akin to Mazda pearl. Personally, I would've tried to negotiate a slightly better residual of 65%, especially at only 12k miles/year. Your money...

    Blind Spot Monitor

The big rigs, 18-wheelers, tracter trailers, etc, do not have (and have not had) any Blind Spot systems. There are millions of Navigators, Expeditions, Suburbans, Escalades, Acadias, Outlooks, etc running around with no Blind Spot systems...they're all doing just fine! The Mazda BPM is just...

should I trade my 07 for an 08?

Trade-in a 2007 for a 2008...?? If you have $8,000 burning a hole in your pocket, then donate it to some good cause rather than make the dealers rich.

    New owner...only for 2 years

Congratulations & welcome! Very nice color choice (Pearl White)! For the last 11 years I've had different model year Nissan Maxima's. Love Nissan, especially the Maxima. With an addition to the family I had to trade-in my perfectly good 2006 Maxima for the 2007 CX-9. Looked at Murano (no...
