    CX-5 2016 unable to start

What he said. To add, I've heard of batteries working/failing intermittently. They test good, but sometimes have an internal failure (short) that is not always present.

2016 CX-5 annoying knocking noise from front passenger side, help!

Looks to me like you're missing the sway bar link (bottom right in your video) You can see the bar jump when the clunk sounds. Likely contacting the control arm. Get one of those installed and I bet your sound goes away.

My CX-9 could not handle snow

I believe 4wd flashing means there's a fault in the AWD system and reverts to just FWD. How many miles on your CX9? What tires?

TCS lights stay on for no reason?

Since this was bumped up, figured I'd add my 2c as well. My wife's previous '09 CX9 had this same issue. Hers started out as lights coming on turning one direction and turning off going the other. Brought it into the dealer and they said it was low on brake fluid, which they said was a master...

Tires needed at 25K miles (replaced w/ Michelin Defender LTX M/S)

You know, I noticed the same thing about the Premier LTX's I had installed on my Explorer a few years ago. The OE Hankooks were quiet and smooth all the way to 70K miles, but they were terrible in the snow, so they had to be replaced before winter. The Premier LTX's are lightyears ahead of the...

My opinion, they stick out too far.

    Stupid Is As Stupid Does

Since the key was in the suitcase, was the vehicle preventing you from locking the key inside? It may not have been close enough to the ignition to start, but was still detected.

Tried testing SCBS & SBS today

This is the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this thread.

2019 Signature CX-5 Battery, Parking Brake and Liftgate Gremlins

Sounds like your battery is low charge or failing. Can you hook it to a battery charger for a while? That might revive it. You say you have mostly 6 mile drives, that will shorten the life of the battery. Not enough time to recharge after starting so it just slowly drops in power. Low/bad...

    Paint Correction?

$300 for full vehicle isn't terrible. And, what you could do is have the shop correct the paint and then follow up with a DIY ceramic coat. Will help a little bit with future scratches and add another layer of protection to the paint. As others have said, you could try to do it by hand first...

CX-9 2013 GT AWD - Shudder in drivetrain

Same with my wife's 09. I was thinking it was transmission/torque converter, but after some OBDII reader analysis, found it was getting a misfire on a couple cylinders. Replaced plugs and issue went away.

Royal Purple, Zepro or Castrol Edge?

Totally agree. I always like the 'up to' part of those statements. So, if it was -24%, that statement would still be accurate.

Engine oil light on and off

How many miles did you have on the oil when you brought it in for the oil change? I'd say if you had more than 5k miles (~8k KM) on that oil, it was likely dark. Light brown (depending on how light) sounds like it might be clean oil.

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

Not sure if I posted in this thread, but I test drove a few 2.5T CX5's last winter (Jan-2020) when I was in the market for one. I drove 2 Signatures and 1 GTR and made sure to drive them when it was cold (0F). All 3 exhibited this issue. 1st and 2nd gears were dogs and power came on in 3rd...

2021 CX-5 Connected Services remote start

My 14 Explorer has factory remote start and acts the same way as the Colorado. Stays running and doesn't 'come alive' until you press the brake and hit the start button. My mom's Highlander shuts off when you open the door (if it was remote started). I thought it was odd and thought something...

    CX-5 Engine Swap?

First, I think you meant Miatas are RWD. Second, I agree it would be a lot of work to get something like that to fit/work in a CX5. A RWD, Turbo V8 CX5 would be pretty cool though.

    CX-5 Engine Swap?

My coworker "plopped" a Chevy LS1 with a turbo into his Miata. The amount of custom fabrication was crazy, but it was a badass car. Not sure if he had heat issues, but I know he hit the road coarse a few times with it. Like others have said, if you have the time and money, you can probably...

2016 CX-9 Rear shock removal question

I can't help, but I hope they changed the design compared to the previous generation. I replaced rear shocks in my wife's 09 CX9. Pretty much all the plastics in the back (as well as the 3rd row seats) had to come out to get access to the top nut. Not difficult, just time consuming. Once all...

2007~2015 Presentation and a couple of questions

Another data point. My wife had a 2009 CX9 AWD for better part of 10 years. Had 185k miles when we sold it last fall. Water pump (and coolant) was original, no issues. Transfer case was replaced at around 120k miles due to a leak short after I changed the fluid. I think I waited too long to...

CX-5 vs. Subaru CrossTrek vs. RAV4 vs Nissan Rogue

I was going to make a similar comment about the Outlander. The front end has too much going on and it's a bit fugly. The previous gen Outlander, in my opinion, was a few decades behind in design. They seemed to jump past a redesign and went full crazy with the update. All my opinion and yours...
