Is it ok to have mismatched tires?

I don’t know about your dealer, but mine measures tread depth in x/32nds. :-) Assuming that is what you meant, I’d bite the bullet and just get a new set of 4. 4/32nds is marginal IMHO. For example, It is the legal minimum for mountain snow driving in Colorado. You can never go wrong...

Red Light/Speed cam announcement on Infotainment

To verify that it comes from Nav, pop the SD card out before starting the car and drive through a known light or speed camera. If it doesn’t sound off like previously, then you know from whence it comes.

Red Light/Speed cam announcement on Infotainment

It’s part of the roadway database on the SD Card. You have Nav, correct? It’s only as current as the last database version.

How long did your brake pads last?

I can see where this could be a problem on long downhills, unless of course you downshift appropriately to slow the vehicle.

Transferring GPS "Favorites" from one CX-5 to another

I don’t have an answer for you. But if it turns out you can’t, you might want to switch to Waze or Google Maps so this isn’t a problem next new car

    30,000 Mile Maintenance Quote

My dealer does all the above for $99 regular price, including fluid top up. So far I’ve skipped the rotation and gotten the rest for $79 (I get free rotation at Discount Tire and the 5k miles intervals aren’t synced anyway) Definitely do the cabin air filter yourself. I’m mechanically helpless...

Can't fast forward when listening via Bluetooth, any solutions?

CarPlay (and AA I presume) provides this functionality on most if not all supported apps. Not sure if phone as USB device does - give it a try.

    CX-5 2016 unable to start

How’s your battery? Is it more than 3 years old? An old/flaky battery could cause symptoms like this. If in doubt, take it to a parts place like Autozone or Pep Boys for a free test. Might need to take it somewhere for more in-depth testing. (Load test?)

Installation of CarPlay Upgrade Kit on 2017-2018 CX-5?

Only certain “preapproved for CarPlay” apps will show up on your display. Those mentioned are probably included. Others may not be. Install away on your phone and see what shows up on your car screen.

    Infotainment ver. 74.00.230A

Interesting. I downloaded and installed 14.5.1 last week the day it was released. It showed as current just now:

What version of IOS are you using? I had a similar problem when updating to 14.5. Seems to have gone away 🤞🏻Now that I’m at 14.5.1. (I’m running and old version of the Mazda system - 3 years old?

First new tires for my 2019 CX-5 Signature

One of the features I like on many Continental Tires is the scored D/W/S markings on the tread. When the S wears away, the tire is no longer good for Snow. Same for W & D when no longer good for Wet and then Dry.

    CX-50 vs GV70

GV70 is a very sharp looking rig, no doubt but we haven’t even seen anything half-way authoritative on the CX-50 design.

What did you pay for your CX-5?

I suspect that there are informal agreements among dealers in some areas to not discount above x% off MSRP. (Collusion, anyone?) In other areas, free market rules. The cars cost the dealers with like sales volumes the same, so why, otherwise, do discounts vary so much?

What did you pay for your CX-5?

Don’t waste your time negotiating in person. You’re playing their game when you do. Do all your “negotiating” via email with bid rounds with multiple dealers. Get initial quotes from all dealers you’re willing to buy from. Then give the rest of them the opportunity to beat the low bid. Rinse...

    Replacement for G91a tires

Think about the General Altimax RT43 (?) tires. Pretty good and a lot cheaper than Continentals.
