    Simple, customizable trunk storage

Unlikely, just the standard OEM retractable cargo cover which has a screen or netlike feature that extends out when trunk is opened. Saves weight space and does not create a solid barrier between the passenger compartment and trunk.

What did you pay for your CX-5?

For me, the 2021 is worth it just for the new entertainment system alone. The screen itself is great, 10.25 widescreen format, cleaner graphics, faster response from what I remember from my 2016 Mazda6 (now departed). We bought our 2021 in November, and a brief comparison with 2020s was all it...

    Simple, customizable trunk storage

Nice! Better and cheaper than my $22 solution after the 10% coupon. I used the supplied straps to secure the container on the passenger side with the hook near the wheel well and the hook near the trunk lid opening. So far I have not really had a chance to use it.

    Off Topic Winter storm talk

My local paper's Business Section ran a story on the 2/17/21 calling it a failure by design Perhaps larger demand played a role, but one of the leads was "What has sent Texas reeling is not an engineering problem, nor is it the frozen wind turbines blamed by prominent Republicans. It is a...

What did you pay for your CX-5?

2/22/2021: Current Mazda CX5 Signature MSRP is 38,680 according to Mazda USA. When I bought in November, MSRP was 38,505, bare bones, no mats, no locks, or other accessories. This includes Destination and Handling Not sure what the $175 difference is... It could be the February 1, 2021 price...

Probably he means CX5 Grand Touring Reserve (GTR) trim, and not the the Nissan GTR, for example.

Some Questions about the Gen 2 CX-5

I agree with the CPO, whenever I get a CPO, or used, I try to make sure I have a baseline on everything, which may mean a lot of fluid changes and maybe replaceable such as wipers, filters, brake pads, etc., I at least inspect. That way I can get on a known schedule of maintenance

    Winter/Snow tires

Hub centric rings keep the wheel centered on the axle during installation. A wheel that is mounted slightly off-center will vibrate while driving. It is possible to center the wheel by following Proper Installation Technique . However, hub centric rings make it easier to get right. And some...

    AWD and flat tire

Yes, I looked in the old 2014 manual, and they had the same warning. As well as one about spinning the wheels excessively which leads you to that other thread Never spin a wheel that is off the ground: Spinning a wheel that is off the ground as a result of the vehicle being stuck or in a...

    CX-5 Accessory must haves?

It turns out the WeatherTech Mazda cargo mat for the Gen 1 CX5 was like this. It turned out to be very useful because we always used the cubbies for something, including bottles of wine from Costco, a liter of cooking oil or small packages. The new WeatherTech covers the little cubbies and...

    AWD and flat tire

It sounds as if the engine is going into limp home mode, limiting you to 50 mph. I have experienced this limp home mode in other cars, not due to flat tires, but because of extreme heat, foolishly following a friend in a Suburban on a 122 degree day, in Palm Springs, up the mountain in a fully...

CX-5 vs. Subaru CrossTrek vs. RAV4 vs Nissan Rogue

I agree that the 2.0 Crosstrek is totally gutless after 2018 test drives. The new 2021’s should be better with the 2.5L. As others have said, the Crosstrek is not in the same class as the CX5, smaller and more CX3 or CX30 class. However, for me, the Crosstrek is one of the best looking Subaru...

CX-5 vs. Subaru CrossTrek vs. RAV4 vs Nissan Rogue

I thought they stopped selling the Venza in 2015, but I see they are bringing it back in 2021...they say it is really a Toyota Harrier from Japan I suppose this is like the way they brought in the Toyota Avensis rebadged as a Lexus HS 250h back in the day. This just reminds you how big Toyota...

    2021 CX-5 Signature - what's included in SiriusXM?

Not all radio stations stop, based on my experience with my Subaru which has the same deal, 3 months full access, then 3 years traffic, weather, etc. There are some basic news and talk stations supplied. I use is NPR Now and BBC World News on occassion, but mostly just use CarPlay or plain old...

    HUD warning

Our car is in the body shop so I cannot tell you. I know that you get speed limit and stop signs but have not come across red light cams like you get in Waze Not saying the car doesn’t do it, just that the area we frequent does not have red light cams...unlike DC where I am sure it is a...
