    2021 CX-5 wheel fitment questions

Stock 225/55-19 already rub on a Gen 1? Wow! Talk about engineering margin or lack thereof. Wonder if the Gen 2 has same clearance issues? So if the OP wants new wider tires, he really needs to research, and may conclude new wheels with a different offset and width to make it all work...

    2021 CX-5 wheel fitment questions

245/50-19The key is to maintain the tire diameter of 28.7 inches. The 245/50-19 is 28.6 inches or about -0.35% which is an acceptable variation according to most, The 7 inch wheel is the minimum width you can use with that size, so assuming proper inflation, I doubt you will have an issues...

    Need ideas for CX-5 wheels

I would not blindly go by what they recommend....I would also do your own calculations to verify....using on line calculators This particular site has been upgraded to select equivalent sizes., such as the afore mentioned 225/55-19 is most similar to 225.60-18. You want to keep within 0-1.5%...

These wheels for machine gray 2018 CX-5?

I think the 12 lbs unsprung weight will be appreciated, depending on tires and I don't think you will be going much wider than 225's to maintain the same or nearly the same rolling diameter with a 1% -2% margin of error

These wheels for machine gray 2018 CX-5?

Nice, reminiscent of BBS! Which size would you get? 18x7.5 (22 lbs) or 18x8 (25 lbs), and what offsets, 45 and 40? Always like to see what people do and how they decide.

Bumper protector - 1 year later...

Or your wife's friend pulls out her overnight suitcase and whacks the bumper with the wheel causing a permanent dent in the plastic bumper, which caused me to buy the stainless steel piece to hide the dent...

    2021 CX-5 BSM system vs 2017 version

Well, just as side note, the BSM in our 2014, (purchased in early 2013 with introduction of the 2.5L) was overly sensitive, and would beep when passing certain objects on the road such as traffic signs in the median and other things which might have been storm drain or something in the concrete...

    CX-5 Accessory must haves?

This is actually quite useful, as we hauled some firewood. The "flap" was useful to keep the load from scratching the rear hatch interior and the again to drape over the bumper as we unloaeded. The cover also extends to the back of the rear seats, useful as we hauled multiple loads of 3 cu ft...

Installing CX-5 rear splash guards question

If I recall correctly, on our 2014, I bought a 90 degree screwdriver from Home Depot, and it made the job much easier to do, without removing the rear wheels. I have not purchased or installed mudflaps on the 21 yet. Not sure if I am going to.

    Anybody here have a CX-5 and a CX-30?

I do think the Forrester has the best visibility of any of the compact SUVs. If only they still had the turbo...but rumor has it, there were few takers for turbos for that generation of Forrester. Subaru was selling as many NA Forresters as they could make, so the turbo was just causing them...

    Trade-Up? 2021 CX-5 or 2023 CX-5 (or CX-50)?

I do agree on this. First year of a new generation usually has more teething problems than subsequent years. It really also depends on the utility the family receives from the current car. The 2017 Legacy is a comfortable, if utilitarian car, roomy and adequately powered for most, which is...

    Mazda CX-5 Appreciation Moment

I was parked in a neighborhood last weekend, and there were four Mazda CX5 at two houses across the street from each other. Two first, and two second generation. I should have taken a picture.

    Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Opinions?

And the OP should know that PS4 are ultra high performance summer tires, and not CUV/SUV all season /3 season touring tires. They are like apples and oranges. I would expect that UHP summer tires would wear much more quickly than touring tires, sacrificing the tread compound for increased...

    Check Your Spare Tire Pressure

I think it is laziness/cost cutting. The red light appears to be an idiot light that comes on every car regardless of the instrument cluster type, whereas the white icon with red door is part of the instrument clusters with (at least in 2021) the large Type A multi information center display

    Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Opinions?

I would get this for my street only Subaru WRX, but not for a CX5 that might see more than well paved streets.

    Buying a Child seat

I answered my own question. I spoke to Courtney, the Chicco national car seat specialist, after referral from the Chicco chat. She called me less than 10 minutes after the chat ended. Chicco specs are that ISOFIX LATCH anchor points must be no wider than 11.0 inches apart. Using ISOFIX...

    Buying a Child seat

Yes, will be double latching. I just found the ISOFIX LATCH points. It seems they can only be used in the right and left outboard seats and not the center seat because the ISOFIX LATCH points may be too far apart from each other. Some ISOFIX/LATCH*1 equipped child-restraint systems can be...

    Buying a Child seat

I don't know yet. I just found out they are looking at a Chicco Keyfit 35. I have yet to see one or read much about it except that it is different than the Keyfit 30.

    Buying a Child seat

Thank you! Sounds like we need mats! Not so much for protection of the seats from the car seat base but protection of the seats from other mishaps!

    Buying a Child seat

So we are getting a grandbaby soon, and the Chicco Keyfit 30 or 35 has been selected by the kids. Do you need some sort of mat or towel under the base to keep the seat material from being permanently marred? Thanks
