What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Got the summer wheels back on after swapping the old summer tires (Nexen Roadian HP 285/35/22) for some Continental CrossContact LX Sport in 275/40/22. There's a tiny bit more sidewall height with these tires. Also ordered rear brake pads (Powerstop Z23). The original Z23 pads lasted for 3...

Guide CX-9 Brake Job DIY Completed

Oops, figured I should update. Just a few days ago I started hearing noise coming from the rear. Turns out that it's the pad wear indicators. Still, 35k mi and 3 years is fine, considering the rotors they're paired with. I'll probably get the same pads from Powerstop again.

This Forum Lacks Excitement and That is WONDERFUL!

Wow, I don't believe it. I've been a member here for almost 9 years already lol. It sure doesn't feel that long! Unfortunately I don't know too much about the OTA updates. I think you should be able to get an answer from the Service desk at your local dealership, or maybe directly from Mazda...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Interesting! I'll try a can in the engine oil and a can in the fuel tank when it's halfway to empty before my next oil change in the fall. I'll probably also do an intake/throttle body cleaning as well. I haven't done any of that on this car, so maybe it'll help my mileage a bit.

    CX-5 Cracked Engine

Sounds like @olraygoza noticed an oil leak, so they took it back to the dealer, and the dealer blamed the leak on a loose oil cap. It sounds to me that their dealer is good at making up excuses, and possibly fed them that line about low oil level causing cracked blocks. Probably in an effort to...

    Brake pedal low

To add on to @shawnee's suggestions, I would also contact Mazda Corporate since the issue isn't being resolved at the dealership level. A Mazda Corporate rep will then contact the dealership to get more information and provide further investigation/research/suggestions for the dealer.

    CX-5 Cracked Engine

Has the head even been updated for the 2.5L NA engine? My understanding is that it hasn't, and only the head for the 2.5 turbo engine has been updated. If the head hasn't been updated for the 2.5 NA, then both heads are susceptible to the issue.

    Mazda EZ-60 and CX-60e?

Agreed. I feel like it needs more body lines or design cues to give it more character. It's nice, but not memorable IMO.

    CX-5 Cracked Engine

Unless you got an extended warranty, it's unlikely that you'll get any assistance from Mazda. If the dealership isn't willing to help with the cost, you can escalate your case to Mazda Corporate. There is a TSB for this issue that you should be able to find online. When you contact Mazda...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Wow, I didn't think that kind of mileage was possible with the CX-9. This is a pretty significant difference. You have me wanting to try Pennzoil for my next oil change lol. Seafoam's instructions on their website don't say anything about adding to engine oil for GDI engines. Do you just add a...

Guide CX-9 Brake Job DIY Completed

I have the Powerstop Z23 kit (same that you have) on the rear only. These have been great. I've had the rotors and pads on for almost 3 years and 56000 km (34800 mi).

    Mazda EZ-60 and CX-60e?

Steering wheel looks nice, seats look interesting. Still doing split-open armrest, which I'm not a big fan of. Screens look huge. How does the passenger side front airbag deploy?

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Yep still using Kirkland with 7500-8000 km OCIs. My fuel economy has been pretty consistent since switching from Pennzoil Ultra Platinum years ago. 10.5L/100km at that speed on the highway is what I'd expect from my car. I don't think I've ever seen it in the 7s, lowest was maybe 8.5-9 when I...
