    clutch going out?

there is also a clutch slave cylinder. just have someone pump the clutch while you watch how it behaves.

    Cylinder Head Gas Flowing?

well with n/a piston engines, running a larger intake pipe, larger exhaust pipe and porting the cylinder head will shift the power band from stock. stock is typically designed to provide the flatest torque curve possible over the usuable rpm range for easy daily driving. If slapping a big...

    Jeff's MSP GTR Build

now running 215/45/17 up front 205/40/17 in the rear as no amount of fending rolling seemed to truly stop the rubbing anytime I had passengers in the car and hit "whoops" in the road. I think the rears would need to be "pulled" or "stretched" to work with my wheels and 215/45/17s (heck even the...

    gt3371?

lol not for all of them. my experience with a ebay T40e has been great. imo people put too much importance on spool time and run ebay turbochargers too close to their max output. from my experiences if you are looking at a chinacharger then you cant afford great tires or a built trans...

lol nice. glad we could help. finish it up and have some fun with the car.

    staring!

no problem. let us know if you have any other issues. as I said before try not to crank over the motor for very long. If it does not start after a few seconds that means something is hooked up wrong. good luck!

    staring!

a "generic" image but describes what you need to do: fuel pump to rail, rail pressure is maintained via FPR, excess fuel/pressure is drained back to fuel tank.

    staring!

been a while since ive looked at a fsde but i still think you have it backwards buddy. fpr is after injectors, its what keeps them at proper pressure. you dont regulate the pressure before the rail, you regulate it after the fuel has entered. this is how every fuel system i have ever worked on...

    staring!

i think you have fuel lines backwards. it doesnt need to get past fpr to get to injectors. if there is no fuel in your rail then your lines are backwards.

    Replace high miles motor

car-part.com just search for 2001 or newer 2.0 proteges and protege 5s. the turbo can always be sourced elsewhere if you cant find a stocker on that site.

    staring!

pull out your spark plugs and crank the motor for a few seconds. you will see fuel mist if the injectors are firing. imo dont crank your car for long durations as described. if it does not start after a couple seconds odds are you have something hooked up wrong. just google some images for...

    Which is more accurate?

well the easiest test would be to try running the afc alone and see if it still reads 7psi. Running two devices off the same vac line can sometimes cause issues depending on the source, the hose used, the devices used etc.. If nothing changes try another boost gauge from a friends car and see...

    Need an Open Source/Tuning Solution

this^ no need for them anyways. If you cant afford a AFC (the easiest/cheapest way to tune) then tuning the msp platform isnt for you lol IMO stock internals motor works great with an AFC. Theres no need for anything more really. If you have built motor running high boost with a transmission...

    Need an Open Source/Tuning Solution

there are plenty of tuning options available from piggy back afcs that intercept and modify signals to the stock ecu, to full stand alone ems and even plug and play unichips. afcs are cheap at only a couple hundred for a used unit and are simple to tune. there are lots of options and plenty of...

    rod knock?

i crushed a fs rod bearing once, there was literally a sliver of bearing left on the crank and the motor still ran lol checking your exhaust manifold as mentioned above should be your first step heres a dumb question. when is the last time you changed your oil? Any chance you just having a...

    Jeff's MSP GTR Build

forgot to add that the new motor started on the first crank :) no freeze plugs have fallen out yet ;) thanks to lukas for letting me do that swap at his place and helping out, particularly with drilling / tapping the cylinder head when I snapped off a stud for the thermostat housing. A...
