Spark Plug Change Leads to Engine Light throwing Cat Code?

Did a shop do the work for you? Independent mechanic? It sounds like you provided the parts - if they were not the OEM Mazda plugs, what is the NGK part number of the plugs used? As far as I know, outside of the OEM plugs, only the NGK 90288 (DILKAR7M8) plugs are proven to work as well as the...

    2023 CX-50 Meridian Turbo Cylinder Head Replacement...Thoughts?

I'm gonna guess that this is the video @jfrogger is referring to. It seems to be the only video available that details an OEM turbo replacement.

    2023 CX-50 Meridian Turbo Cylinder Head Replacement...Thoughts?

How would just looking at pictures of the head indicate that the problem is fixed? More material is not always better.. additionally, even if you could find a detailed diagram, it wouldn't show enough detail to see any internal design changes or even changes in thickness at any given part. For...

    Looking at a used CX-5 Skyactiv-D 2.2L

Based on what you've written in your post, it sounds like the diesel 2.2 would work great for your use case. It may be more difficult to source parts/aftermarket parts because the 2nd gen diesel is quite rare, but aside from that, I think you'll be ok. In addition to the past service history, I...

Guide 2016~2021 CX-9 DIY Transfer Case + Rear Differential Fluid Drain and Fill

Just thought I'd note: my fluid from the transfer case looked almost like yours, maybe just a shade darker. I did mine at 116k kms (72k mi). Based on what my service manager at the dealership told me after they replaced my rear diff, they say that they always fill the fluid up to the fill hole...

    Yellow tint on headlights?

I wouldn't recommend it. Adding a layer of tint to the headlight lens will block some of the output and reduce the effectiveness of the lighting. How much, I don't know.. it probably depends on the quality and color of the film. Keep in mind that a darker yellow reduces output much more than a...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Washed/rinsed out the AEM DryFlow filter that comes with the Corksport air intake. Next up is an engine bay clean. It's supposed to rain all weekend, with temps dropping to single digits, so I'll just wait until its nicer out.

Who has changed their transmission fluid?

One of our fellow members posted a DIY guide for fluid change and filter change as well. It can be found in our Resources subforum, under the Forums heading at the top of the page. I'll link the thread here for you...

Who has changed their transmission fluid?

I would change the transfer case and rear diff fluid. Just a simple drain and fill. Transmission fluid is a bit more complicated, and I'm hesitant to recommend anything. Personally I would just do a drain and fill if the transmission is shifting well with no issues. It might be best so speak...

    Mazda Infotainment Settlement

If your out of pocket expense for the replacement was $2.50, then yeah, that's what you could be reimbursed for. Most people paid a lot more for the replacement, and would thus be reimbursed for a lot more.

    Infotainment System Freezing

Does your installation of Android Auto hardware include OEM components? It is highly recommended to update the firmware before installing the OEM components. I'm not sure if the process is different when non-OEM components are used. I suggest reviewing the first post in this thread, then...

    SkyActiv Oil Analysis Thread

Skyactiv Oil Analysis is the thread title and topic. It's for posting Used Oil Analysis reports and discussing the results of those reports. Discussing OCI is relevant to a degree, as some people will change their OCIs according to their UOAs. However, debating the manufacturer's recommended...

New 2024 CX-90 PHEV is officially a lemon. Researching what to do next

You shouldn't have had to deal with so many problems, but it's a first MY of a new generation, with a brand new drivetrain and the added complexity of MHEV. I'm glad to hear that all the issues have finally been sorted out, and you're left with the car as it's meant to be.
