How easy is DIY for the spark plugs?

I remember you mentioning this in a different thread. Here's a link to that post in case anyone else is interested in seeing it.

How easy is DIY for the spark plugs?

Just a reminder here for everyone to be mindful of your tone when commenting - not only your intended tone but how it may be perceived by others. Light "jabs" are ok, but if someone is genuinely looking for answers and instead gets "jabs" from a couple of people, it puts them on the defensive...

How easy is DIY for the spark plugs?

Callisto isn't on this forum. In fact I think the account he used to join here was banned a year or two ago. Changing spark plugs is actually quite easy on this engine. You'll need the following: Spark plugs x4 1/4" or 3/8" drive ratchet with 6" (or longer) extension 8mm and 10mm sockets 14mm...

    Maintenance Schedule Questions

If something bad is happening with the drivetrain, it's already too late. Replacing ATF is a preventative measure, just like replacing differential oil and engine oil are preventative measures. Mazda does say that the fluid is a lifetime fluid that doesn't need to be changed, but I wouldn't risk...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Well, my 4 year old got a little too excited playing with sidewalk chalk and a rock she had picked up off the ground a few days ago. She scratched up a small area just below the front passenger door handle. I pulled out the polisher and an aggressive foam pad, along with Meguiar's Ultimate...

No transmission maintenance interval recommended in owner's manual?

Thanks for the correction, I edited my post above.

No transmission maintenance interval recommended in owner's manual?

There is a dipstick, but it can be hard to access. The hole for the dipstick is also the fill hole, but because of the location, you'd need a very long funnel or two to pour the ATF without spilling it everywhere.

Lost key fob but car starts and drives

I'm not familiar with the 2013 CX-5, but on my 2018 CX-9 there's a floor vent under the driver's side seat. I've found small toys, stuffed animals, candy containers, etc. wedged in that area. Maybe the keys found their way in there.

What is your CX-5 “Must have”?

The ADD/HUD is definitely something that I have come to appreciate quite a bit. Smart keyless entry is a must-have for me. It's so nice to be able to leave my keys in my pocket and not have to worry about leaving my keys in the car, scratching up my door handle with house keys, or rooting...

No transmission maintenance interval recommended in owner's manual?

Just adding my experience with my own car. I don't have a scan tool either, so what I did was get the fluid circulating and up to temp. Remove the drain plug and let the fluid drain into a clean container for about 15 mins. Then I left the fluid to cool down to ambient temp, with the new fluid...

Please follow the directions on the first page of this thread. It's important to note that there is a callout in that first post to please exercise patience and understanding while waiting for a response from @Candurin. Remember that this assistance and the files are all being provided for free...

Better to get new off the shelf exhaust system or custom?

I would take it to a mechanic. If the exhaust manifold is what's leaking, then you or the mechanic will need to figure out where it's leaking (engine side or exhaust side, or both) and get the required parts. That should fix the issue at the exhaust manifold, but may not fix other issues you...

    Camping with CX-5 Powerlift Gate

If possible I would recommend bringing an RFID box to keep your keyfob in. I think that keeping the keyfob within a close proximity to the car will keep the proximity sensors on the car active (same sensors used for the smart keyless entry). This can prevent the car from "going to sleep" and...

    Is a transmission service necessary?

Any competent mechanic should be able to do that for you. You can get the gasket/sealant and the new pan (if needed) from the dealership, along with the replacement ATF.

Is the CX-90 Really that Bad? Owner Feedback?

I'd recommend sticking with warranty offered by Mazda only. I believe Toyota Financial Services now handles Mazda's warranty sales, and yes you should be able to buy the warranty online or over the phone via any Mazda dealer in your country. The standard inline-6 is a good motor, it's just a...
