Shopping Used CX-5s, questions about cracked cylinder years

To be fair, you don't have to sell the car when the extended warranty expires. Chances are good that the engine will last much longer. On top of that, being aware of the potential issue means that you can plan ahead and set up a "repair fund" that would be established and ready to use by the...

I gotta ask, what happened to Conrad 16.5?

You're entitled to your own opinion, but I will say that the decision to ban was not a knee-jerk reaction. It was based on his past history, his disregard of the mod team's warnings, and most importantly, his continued conduct towards some other members. Unlike some other forums, it doesn't...

    Driver Door speaker blew out!

The OEM Bose speakers can be purchased directly from the dealer. Alternatively, you can ask the dealer to give you the part numbers for the door speakers in question, then search for those part numbers on auction sites like eBay or online Mazda parts dealers like this one. Note that the linked...

I gotta ask, what happened to Conrad 16.5?

It really doesn't matter whether he was right or not. What's unacceptable is the behaviour. There were better, more respectful ways to disagree or further clarify his position. Instead, he chose to antagonize - something he'd been warned about in the past.

I gotta ask, what happened to Conrad 16.5?

He was banned on July 9th. He had already received warnings in the past for antagonizing other members, and received a final warning after one member decided to leave the forum after an interaction with Conrad 16.5. Things were ok for a while until that incident on the 9th, when he was...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Update: Car is back to normal. Replaced the thermostat and the engine coolant temperature sensor. Kind of dumb that the ECT sensor is a bit buried - on most other cars, its much more easily accessible, but I think the real problem was the thermostat anyway. I replaced both parts just in case...

Tires needed at 25K miles (replaced w/ Michelin Defender LTX M/S)

That's about the time I worked as a call center rep for Comcast. Based on what I saw and heard from the reps around me, you are spot on (unfortunately).

Location of the ECT sensor. The thermostat housing is just to the left. Unclip the ECT sensor and the connector just above it to make room for your 19mm deep socket and ratchet. A note on these connectors - they're "squeeze and pull" connectors, but you want to squeeze closer to the "middle" of...

Got everything all sorted out with the engine overheating issue on Friday evening. I drained the coolant, then replaced the thermostat and engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor with brand new Mazda OEM parts. Refilled with the recommended 55/45 Mazda OEM coolant. Mileage on the car is almost...
