My replacement was on a CX-9, which has a different rear LCA design. On the CX-9, the balljoint, bushings and LCA are sold as one unit, so I never tried to remove the bushings. I just replaced the whole LCA since the balljoint was on it's way out too.

Appreciate you coming back and providing an update! Keep an eye on your oil level after the repair. Its good to keep an eye on it in case the dealer makes mistakes on the job, or if a different problem arises. Definitely do a thorough check at least a month before your CPO warranty expires.

Did a little detailing on Saturday morning. I taped off the windows and plastic trim, then clay barred the contaminated areas, which was limited to the doors. Then washed the car (Carpro Reset), and polished it to get rid of all the micromarring (Meguiars Ultimate Polish). Removed all the tape...

My front windows are tinted to my province's legal limit of 35%. Not quite dark enough to match the rear window's privacy glass.. I think 20% or 25% would match much better.

If you're looking for a more specific answer, it's best to provide as much relevant info in the original post. In this case, you could also include the lift range of the jack. Low profile jacks usually have a lower maximum lift, which can be an issue if you're jacking from the front center or...

You know, that's probably what it was, the rust jacking of the caliper on the surfaces that the clips rest on. I didn't wire brush or file down those surfaces. 🤦‍♂️ Thanks for the insight! I reused the Powerstop rotors, and used the new pad clips and slide pin boots that the pads came with.

I plan to be working on my cars/house as much as I can, as often as needed. I'm not ready to give up that sense of satisfaction from a completed DIY job lol

New rear pads on

Changed the rear pads yesterday. There's a bit of scoring from the pad wear indicator, but nothing major. It was quite a simple job overall, but I did have two time-consuming hiccups. The first was getting the pads into the clips, and I also had some trouble getting the car out of maintenance...

I'd definitely be interested in seeing how the first CVT in Mazda's offerings stack up, and what the response will be from reviewers and the first buyers. I've heard that Toyota's eCVT is one of the most reliable, so I'm glad that's the one were getting - I just hope it's tuned accordingly for...

I wasn't really sure what to expect out of these pads, especially with drilled and slotted rotors, but they held up pretty good.

Forgot to update, but I did an oil change a week or two ago, and this past Friday I got the new tires on the rims and then swapped the winter tires off. Next up is replacing the rear brake pads. Going with Powerstop Z23 pads again. Just for fun, here's a comparison of the car from 2019 to 2025.
