Pulled Mani, VICS plate missing, now what?

First sentence under the picture in the OP. ;) I'm almost afraid to take off my intake manifold and see if the VICS assembly is intact. Not certain, but I'm pretty sure the IM hasn't been removed since it got put on in Japan. And I'm just past 210k miles.

    Eaton M62 electronically clutched supercharger

I was actually wondering if there would be anything to gain from using an SMIC in *addition* to the FMIC. As in, S/C to FMIC to SMIC to intake manifold. Of course, this may not be appropriate questioning for a For Sale thread. I'm a pretty terrible hijacker, my apologies.

At that level of boost, would using a MSP computer be sufficient for fuel and ignition timing? Or is the ssafc pretty much a requirement? And just as a question of curiosity, a sort of "what if" moment: could there be any perceptible gain in running the output of the FMIC into the input of a...

    Front brake replacement issue

It's removable. Pivot the caliper up as far as it goes and then slide it back off the guide pin. In the end of the guide pin is the socket for an allen wrench. I don't remember the size but it's pretty hefty - I have a half-inch-drive socket specifically for it. Might need a breaker to get...

what was your first mod and why???

A cheap 50-dollar eBay intake, when the rubber accordion intake tube rotted a few years ago. It's only been in the last year or so that I've been able to do much modding, and then only little stuff. EDIT: No, wait, I lied. First mod I did was Tribute washer nozzles.

    Lots of Protege parts

Don't worry too much. Sometimes thuzil is away for a few days. He'll get back to you, I promise. I've bought stuff from him and he's a great, high-quality seller. Just a little slow to the reply sometimes. I suspect he's quite a busy chap. But he WILL reply. I promise.

    Eaton M62 electronically clutched supercharger

Can't tell you how badly I want this. Won't have the money for it for 4 weeks, minimum, though. Bump for a someone-needs-to-buy-this-thing.

I haven't gone the HID route only because I don't trust myself to retrofit my own headlights to projectors and not have them aimed all croocked and cockeyed.

Change dash computer to show mpg instead of L/100miles

I definitely need to do that mod.

Change dash computer to show mpg instead of L/100miles

I suspect you figure octane ratings differently there. In America, the baseline fuel is usually 87 octane, mid-grade 89, and premium is usually 91-94 depending on the gas station. The stickers on the pumps say we use the (R+M)/2 method. Oh yes, ours are most definitely cable operated. For...

We get our cruise control system controls in that spot.

    Another P5 on a College Budget....Meet Ozzie

You should get Sickspeed horns. I hear a lot of good things about them, they're up there on my to-do list.

Totally not the right thread for that, but welcome!

What have you done to your P5 today?

I haven't done the Canadian EGR yet (but it's on the list, probably to be done if/when I get the 4-2-1 header I want) but I would imagine you could run the coolant lines in-line with the one coming out of the throttle body. Just need a foot or two of extra hose. And then, if you hit a wall and...

    seventystangfan's '02 Midnight Blue P5 Build/Progress

The only time I ever had smoke tinted headlight covers, they were on my car (a Neon at the time) less than 12 hours. I drove to a friend's house late that night and took them off when I got there, I couldn't see to save my life. And when you're driving at night, you need to see, literally to...

    Greetings!

If you're still rocking those chrome altezza taillights and don't want to be, I'd be happy to trade. I still have stockers. By the time I was able to afford them, I couldn't find the chromies on ebay anymore, just the black ones. And I think the chromes look better on Laser Blue Mica than the...

What have you done to your P5 today?

While wrench positioning may be awkward, once you get into it and see how it's put together it should be pretty easy. Disconnect the EGR pipe (that comes from the exhaust manifold), pull a vacuum hose or two, undo a couple bolts, and the bugger falls right off. Get the new one and go...
