2017~2025 Clunk on sharp turns with brand new CX-5

2022 with 12,000 miles. Rockauto sells an after market seal, Mahl I think? Yea, I think because the valve cover/head engine cover is plastic Mazda says replace the cover and the seal. If I have to do it on my own I'm putting the aftermarket one in because it's probably less likely to leak.

2017~2025 Clunk on sharp turns with brand new CX-5

I am hoping your bushing replacement fixes it. I drove around for a day with my cowl panel removed to help diagnose my pop/creak noise. Noise still there with cowl plate removed. So its not that So I might spray down my sway bar bushings with silicone spray lube to see if that changes...

Engine Coolant Reservoir Level Low, maybe leaking? 2018 CX-9

I have said this on other posts, I someone is gunna loose sleep over this, its not a crazy idea to go buy an updated head ($600) and updated gaskets, find a picky as hell mechanic (like me) and swap the head. You can reuse the valves if its in the lower mileage range if they get lapped in the...

Engine Coolant Reservoir Level Low, maybe leaking? 2018 CX-9

If it was my car? I wouldn't touch a thing except pulling the stick and checking the oil for color and level. I wound not add any coolant. Dont pull the radiator cap, just do a visual of the plastic overflow jug I would take a picture of the 3/4" below full and keep driving it. Or use a...

    Poll 2.5T Coolant Leak/Engine Replacement

Your good. Head replacement is not the end of the world, not that difficult either. If I had to pay for it, the dealership wouldnt be my first choice. Hope your sleezy company that sold you the service contract pays up. I feel your pain

    Poll 2.5T Coolant Leak/Engine Replacement

If it was my car I would have a $35 oil analysis done on the engine oil. If the coolant got in your engine oil you're looking at a long block. If no coolant got in the engine oil it's just a head and that car will be solid after the repair

    Poll 2.5T Coolant Leak/Engine Replacement

Yea, I have belonged to a lot of forums and I join to find out things like how the vehicle works, maintenance tips, and guides on how to make the car better. The average person who buys this car is not popping the hood and crawling underneath the vehicle. They buy it as a transporter. Frankly...

    Poll 2.5T Coolant Leak/Engine Replacement

100,000 CX9s in the TSB VIN range. 36 people voted yes on this pole. If I loved the car otherwise I probably would just pay the $2,000 and update the head myself.... if I was going to worry about it all the time.

Pretty sure those 12 bolts and the cowl panel fwd of the windshield gets pulled to pull exhaust to pull head so they are gunna shine you off on that. They will probably tell you those 12 bolts got torqued to the required 29ft-lbs on reassembly. If you got 12 mm wrench you can check them yourself.

Steering making noise (2019 CX-9). Any ideas?

Thats cool! John Deere makes good stuff! Most automotive companies remove grease nipples years ago because people were over greasing and blowing out the seals, which led to water incursion. Good example of dumbing down maintenance. Haha

Steering making noise (2019 CX-9). Any ideas?

Unbelievable. Dealer mechanics suck. If there is no DTC, or TSB telling them where to look the car is good. I never bring my stuff to a dealer unless I ABSOLUTELY have to.

Steering making noise (2019 CX-9). Any ideas?

So at the top of the screen on the video there is a large jamb nut on the shaft. And the nut was 3/4 of a turn loose? I just wanted to clarify what you found. Nice for people in the future that have the same problem.

I check coolant the same way I check the oil.. stone cold, before first start of the day, level flat surface preferably same exact spot. Keeps all variables the same so I am not chasin my tail.

    2021 CX-9 Burning oil

Yea, I get it, and your right, once they crack it open, never really is the same. Especially when you look at the kind of people that are working on these vehicles now. I swear to God the quality of employees nowadays in EVERY industry is absolutely pathetic. I know that's a blanket statement...

    2021 CX-9 Burning oil

Yea, your problem is definitely not the norm. I would triple check that its consuming oil. I let the car sit over night on the exact same level spot and check the stick then. I would do a once a week check, same day even and note the miles and % between the ad and full marks. My apologies...

    2021 CX-9 Burning oil

Those Nissans have their fair share of electical problems, and not to mention the issues with the trannys. Dunno, if its just a matter of buying an updated $600 cylinder head that makes the car rock solid, well I guess I can make time for that. Every car out there has at least one big issue...
