New rx8 front hubs on the way to me. Another update to make

Bled the brakes on the 21 3. They seemed to bit spongy. Need to do the same on the wife's 3.

Soooo, next job is the front wheel bearings. Ordered 2 RX8 hubs from Mazda Motorsports to replace the stock hubs. Front passenger side is starting to hum @ 50 mph. Should last the season till I get the new ones. I'm sure the wider rims and tires are part of the issue but not bad for 225k miles.

Hi Jeff, I just use something like this, Brake Cube tool. Seems to work on the cars I've done brake work. My 2018 and 2021 3 use an electric parking brake and use a ignition and button procedure to retract the caliper and then you repeat the procedure when you're done.

Took the 3 to the lastest autox to try out the Firehawk Indy's. They did very well. They have more grip and feel than the Conti's. We only had 3 runs but managed to snag 2nd in my class. Still need to find the limit.

If it looks ok and not leaking, I would do what you say. Add some locktite and snug it down tight. I would check the others to make sure they're not loose. WHo did the install?

This will be the 3rd Focus wagon I've used for winter rallyx. They're pretty competitive as a base vehicle. The best thing is I don't have to worry about crashing it. It will stay at the track since it's not street legal.

So I have a new project for winter RallyX. Picked up an old Ford Focus for 250 bucks. Not street legal anymore but perfect for RallyX. Need to get it home and do some maintenance and try to find some studded winter tires.

AC was recharged today, another item off the list. Will try the hoses again Friday if it doesn't rain but Autox Sat and lapping Sunday late afternoon.

So the wheel align was done yesterday. Will get to try it out this weekend, autox sat and lapping on sun. I was told by the align tech that I will need to replace the inner and outer tie rod ends and the camber/castor adjusters on both fronts next year. Had to heat them up to adjust and one of...

No. When I took the 16x8 rims off the Miata I put them on the 21 3. I put conti extreme contacts on those rims. The original tires are in the shed.

Needed new tires on the 21 3 as the Contis have worn out. Tires were fine but I find the sidewalls too soft. Went with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's on recommendation from my tire guy and so far I like them. Car seems more settled and doesn't roll as much as the Conti's did. Will know better at...

So the new relays are in and the rad area is back together. Car started and runs but could not get it hot enough to get to the fan temps to turn it on. Calipers arrived and will start working on the car tomorrow and will get it ready for lapping this Sunday. Had a huge windstorm blow thru the...
