White Pearl Paint Query Initiated With Mazda USA Irvine California

Wow! Hand waxed/polished the vehicle five times in nine months, taking four hours each time. Conditioned the leather seats six times. Detailed the engine bay three times. Changed oil four times with full synthetic each time. Rotated tires four times. All in less than a year. The very...

Disappointed with TPMS system.....do I understand it correctly?

Ah, that tailgate! The pointy bit at the edge just exactly matches the height of my eye. I learned very, very quickly to duck when moving under the open gate. I share your question about TPMS. The system obviously contains the actual pressures, so why can't it make them visible somewhere...

    Windshield made of sugar???

If you check any forum for any make and model of vehicle, you will find complaints that newer windshields seem to break more easily than older ones. It's certainly not exclusive to Mazda.

    New tires. I like em.

You're in for a surprise. WRG3s are phenomenal tires, every bit as good as a lot of dedicated winter tires. I had them on an old PT Cruiser (my dog car -- gotta love Great Danes) and have their big brother on my CX9: Nokian Hakkapeliittas. I can climb the side of tall buildings.

    Rain-Sensitive Wipers Underwhelmimg

I don't have that problem. I find the intermittent setting quite smart. Your rain sensor may be faulty. Sounds like a warranty job for the dealer to fix.

Why would I want Android Auto?

All good points and I thank you for your comments. But just FYI, I DO use voice command quite a lot! I use it for phoning and I use it for inputting destinations. It is a little clumsy ("Do you mean...?") but it works. No argument that Google would be better, but for $450?... I guess I...

Why would I want Android Auto?

I agree. I find directions on the HUD really intuitive and easy to follow. I'm pretty sure nothing on AA will do the same.

Why would I want Android Auto?

Now that Mazda has announced that Apple Car Play and Android Auto will soon be available as retroactive upgrades for most existing post-2016 Mazda models, I got to wondering why I would want either. My phone is an Android, so obviously that's the one that would be of interest. But what is...

    Windshield made of sugar???

I agree. 3M film (Scotchgard) is almost invisible and really does protect against chips. I have had it on my last five cars and now on the CX-9. Not cheap, but cheaper than repainting. Doesn't do anything for the windshield, of course.

CX-9 Signature interior color more red or brown?

+1 BTW, I have had several cars with Nappa leather. Whatever you do, don't use any sort of harsh cleaner on it, just a damp cloth regularly and a good leather treatment, applied sparingly, no more than once a year.

CX-9 is full of hot air (Literally)

I think you may be correct here. Getting hot air when I don't want it is sporadic -- happens now and again but not all the time. It could well be a sticky vent that gets closed properly when I turn the AC on. I'll notify the dealer when the car goes in for its next service (soon).

CX-9 is full of hot air (Literally)

chacheee: I experienced exactly the same thing the other day. A warm spring day, maybe 18 or 19 degrees, roof open and no need for AC, HVAC temp set to 15 -- minimum -- and hot air blowing through the vents. It was made doubly bad by the fact that you can't close the center vents. After...

    "Auto Pilot" Rating?

OK, I'm in a different generation here, but I find the adaptive cruise control intrusive and annoying. As colnago1331 implies, it is useless on a twisty road as it can't differentiate between a car ahead and in the same lane and one that is in a different lane but still visible to the radar as...

    Air bag warning light

According to the manual, if there is nobody in the passenger seat the "passenger airbag disconnected" warning light should come on "for a specified time". In my 2018 CX-9 the light stays on all the time if there is no passenger. It is kind of annoying. Is this normal? On your car how long...

2018 CX-9 GT Road Noise - Crosspost from Tires, Suspension Section,

Matt: It's not clear from this thread whether you (or the dealer) did what Guest2018 suggested, which is to rotate the tires and thus either confirm or eliminate a tire as the source of the problem. Did you do that yet? Also, what did the dealer do following his mechanic's ride in the vehicle...

Closeup photo of the factory installed roof rails cx-9 2016-18

That's a good price. I paid Cdn$832 -- about US$665 -- for racks and crossbars, installed, when I bought the car. FWIW, the roof rack is a poor design. Installing/removing the crossbars requires a short T20 screwdriver or angle driver (like an allen key) and great care not to damage the roof...

    Issues/Annoyances on 2017 CX-9

My last three BMWs all had heated washer nozzles, so did my ML. Are you sure your BMW doesn't? There is no control for them, they just heat automatically when conditions dictate.

    Issues/Annoyances on 2017 CX-9

Yes, my last few cars have all been BMWs and Mercedes. And yes, it is to Mazda's credit that they can compete with those brands at a lower price point. However, power mirrors and power steering wheel adjustments are hardly big-dollar investments. And if the seat is already powered, what would...

    Issues/Annoyances on 2017 CX-9

My $.02: I have had heated washer nozzles on all four of my last four vehicles. I never noticed it working and am not sure it made any practical difference at all. I don't miss it. Janelf regrets the lack of a seat that automatically moves out of the way when you switch off the ignition. I...

How to reset tire monitoring system on 2018 cx9

And if you don't install sensors, the tire warning light will stay on all the time. I paid Cdn$50 each for mine, including all taxes. That's about as cheap as they get; some manufacturers charge upwards of $90 each. Mazda's price is competitive with KalTire's generic sensors -- and theirs...
