    WTB 18" Wheels - 5x114.3 - 7/7.5/8" w/ 45 or less offset in Michigan!

Yes, I stole the title from @Suprmp5. I also am looking for some 18" rims to go on my CX-5. I've created a bit of a debacle with my rims. I purchased 18" tires with the understanding that I had some 18" wheels for the car (normally had stock 17s). Turns out that the wheels have minor bends...

    Replacement for G91a tires

@hal2 Holy crap you're right! I knew I recognized those 2 legs and paws coming from the front of my car! :ROFLMAO: Yes, I am old enough to remember those commercials. ;) I also remember Uni, Roy, and Al!

    For Sale CX-5 Rear Shocks: 2013-2014 KDY5-28-910C

Where are you in IL? I'm in Mich near Grand Rapids. I may need these. I will know in a week...

Help with clunking after rotor/pad replacement!

So after further research and investigation I think one (or more) of the wheels has a flat spot. I am having it looked at next week. I can't see any discernible flat spots. I'm told from the Honda dealer that the clunking is my shocks. I'll have them look at the shocks as well for a 2nd...

Help with clunking after rotor/pad replacement!

OK, so maybe I'm not the dumbass I think I am... or maybe dumbass me only thinks I'm not a dumbass. Either way I put the correct lug nuts on and I still get the noise. So for more information (or maybe defining proof of my dumbass-ed-ness) I smoothed out the tabs on the pads with my grinder...

    Replacement for G91a tires

@PaulZooms I needed to save $$ where I could, and since I'm making the switch to summer & winter rims I decided to try the TigerPaws. I've had them in the past on my Integra GS-R and liked them. I will update the forum in 10-20k miles! I've easily gotten 60k miles out of my True Contacts...

Help with clunking after rotor/pad replacement!

@theblooms Yes I did all of the above for the brakes using silicon paste. Brakes I'm pretty good at. As for the other... let's just say I'll never be the tire guy on a NASCAR Pit Team.

Help with clunking after rotor/pad replacement!

I'd like to thank you all - especially @CarpeDiem & @AVC for coming today and participating in Rick's a DumbA$$! I just remembered that they gave me the correct Mitsubishi lug nuts (same thread/pitch/dia) and they are a Mag Seat with Washer style. I'm pretty sure the problem is the conical...

Help with clunking after rotor/pad replacement!

Should be plenty of room in the wells for new wheels. www.wheel-size.com showed I actually gained a small bit of room. However - it is interesting that the pads did not come with the V shaped clips. They are Napa Premium (I think mid-grade) ceramic.

Help with clunking after rotor/pad replacement!

@CarpeDiem It shouldn't be the hub because the Mitsu wheel specs are a 67.1mm Hub as well - but maybe...? I try to avoid big bumps! 😆 I think I may just pull them all off and check everything out. Maybe buy some diff log centric nuts (probably should get my wife's input on that :ROFLMAO:).

Help with clunking after rotor/pad replacement!

Hey everyone, thanks in advance. I've got a 2014 CX-5 Touring AWD and I just replaced my pads and rotors this past weekend. I've done this before and I'm pretty confident in my ability (though I'm not perfect!) At the same time I also replaced my stock 17's with some 18x8 Mitsu Eclipse wheels...

    Replacement for G91a tires

I've been using Continental True Contact on my Pilot and CX-5 for years and have been really happy. I JUST put Uniroyal Tiger Paws on the Mazda. I've had them in the past and liked them, and wanted to save some money...

    2013~2016 Rear brake calipers needed?

@yrwei52 Sorry for the very delayed response! I used a mid-grade ceramic pad from NAPA. The brakes are pulsing quite badly right now. I'm not sure if the rears are grabbing very well - there may still be a caliper issue. But I'm planning on replacing the pads & rotors all around in another...

    The little white driving lights

I agree. I think they do a fine job on my 14 CX-5. Although they have become pitted over the years...

    Nickel or Zinc plating rims

So I just picked up a set Mistubishi Eclipse 18" rims to put on Old Blue ('14 CX-5 Touring) and spruce it up a bit from the stock 17's. Their the same bolt pattern, hub size, and a close enough offset (46mm) all for $120. I've been debating painting the rims, plasti-dip, powdercoat, or maybe...

    2013~2016 Rear brake calipers needed?

Update: pulled the rear brakes and the pins were definitely locked. The noise was from the inboard pad's wear indicator. I replaced the pins with new, slathered them with brake grease, and really worked them in and out (of course I also replaced the pads). I should've replaced the rotors as...

    2013~2016 Rear brake calipers needed?

That's what I'm thinking also. I did lube them, but probably not as much as I should have. I will also try to "polish" the pins a bit with steel wool... unless that's a bad idea. Any tips or suggestions are always appreciated!
