    Chrome window trim

I would be cautious. Aftermarket "chrome" trim eventually peels and flakes off. It also yellows over time. Don't do it, IMHO, unless it's OEM from Mazda.

Can we start a thread on what were paying for 2016 CX5"s?

Looks like some are paying $2k - $3k BELOW MSRP. Dealers are a PIA, the games they play gets on my nerves. The one dealer offered MSRP and then claimed that they would not charge for the $1,800 in dealer add-ons (tint, wax, etc). I asked what the invoice price was and they haven't responded...

    Undecided: CX-5 vs Escape/Edge

(freak) "losing proposition" ?? It's about strength and long term reliability. Cast parts develop stress cracks over time and can fail. This goes into long term usage. At 100,000 miles rotating engine parts have seen a lot of heat cycles and pounding. Cast cranks can flex and break over time...

    Undecided: CX-5 vs Escape/Edge

Perfection in this world is not possible. People still seek the unobtainable. I would rather have forged engine parts over memory mirrors and chairs. Most manufacturers would put in the memory seats but then put in a cast crankshaft to save money.

2015 Mazda CX-5 Touring Long-Term Verdict Review (Motor Trend)

The parchment white interior does break the "sea of black" interior.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Dealerships are notorious for bad prep work. Most use a high pressure power hose on the cars sitting on the lot. They reuse the same drying rags over and over and end up scratching the paint. Water spots and swirls are common on new cars. Most customers don't see the paint issues that a...

    Undecided: CX-5 vs Escape/Edge

What hurts Mazda is the "INFOTAINMENT" issue. Drivetrain is solid. They lump everything together so the INFOTAINMENT glitch issues hurt Mazda.

Mazda Mobil start VS Viper smart start?

The remote start is for COOLING the vehicle off in summer and warming it up in winter. Nothing brings misery like sitting inside of a 160F vehicle (Arizona, Texas) after it's been sitting in the sun all day. On the other hand, getting inside a snow covered vehicle when it's 20F outside and...

    Just Purchased 2016 Touring

The LED setup Mazda uses is proprietary so it is NOT a plug & play option when going from halogen to LED. It will require aftermarket LED's in order to convert from the factory halogen.

    Undecided: CX-5 vs Escape/Edge

EVERY vehicle will experience some type of issues. I don't care if you spend $100k on a high-end car, it will have problems. Walk into any Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, etc. dealership and the service department will be doing warranty work on new vehicles. Electrical, mechanical, whatever, the cars...

2015 Mazda CX-5 Touring Long-Term Verdict Review (Motor Trend)

I've driven a 2015 BMW X5 (330HP) and the CX-5 does rival the BMW in all areas EXCEPT power. The BMW is faster and before you know it you can be doing 90MPH. It has tons of power. The X5 is around $70k (wow) and it only gets 23mpg on the highway. The CX-5 quality is very good for a $30k...

I did not know they were forged. I thought the crank and pistons were cast but it's great to hear that the 2.5L has a forged bottom end. Forged parts are more $$ but they are a lot stronger. Any supercharged/power adder engine needs forged parts or it will fail.

2015 Mazda CX-5 Touring Long-Term Verdict Review (Motor Trend)

That is correct. EPA highway MPG tests are done at 60-65mph MAX. The ONLY vehicle that I owned that got good MPG over 70MPH was a newer model Corvette. Those cars are so low and aerodynamic that doing 70-75MPH got the best MPG. Although once you hit 80MPH+ then it began to drop. I have a...

APPs will get better over time. I don't doubt if GoogleStore will come out with a better, faster and less expensive APP to run MSS. Code people can do amazing things.

Who is still loving their CX-5?

I agree. I drove 80's and 70's GM cars and man, they were scary in the curves. They drove like a land yaht but once you got into turns, it got scary. There was a delay in the steering response and the car was floaty. It would "plow" through turns. The car would want to go straight even when it...
