I replaced the ends on my personal P5 a couple months ago. That nut was super tight! So you can twist the tie rod freely once the nut is loose? I was under the impression that you had to pop the tie rod ball joint out of the steering knuckle and twist the end to adjust.

Will do. Yeah, I think the guys that aligned my "MSP5" last time I was in did not do this. The car falls perfectly into spec, but the steering wheel is tilted a little to the right. I would love to change tire shops, as these guys are not the greatest (they charged me for 4 new valve stems...

My 02 had 265k until I swapped the engine. Nothing wrong and still had reasonable compression, but I swapped a MSP block/turbo into it. Now her drive train has 143k.

Hey there, I just purchased 2 "beater" P5s from a local Mazda parts place. I got them both for a steal, and my goal was to take good parts off of one (has some racing heart MP3 wheels and a Team Moon exhaust) and get the other one driving to sell for cheap or give to a friend who really needs...

So it's been a good bit of time since my last update. Work/school got in the way of smooth progress (as it does), but I have finally put "LC1776" on the ground! So far so good! With no mods other than the CX intercooler, she runs! and she looks super nice, too. I'll post some pics soon! So...

Might have to go after market exhaust as well. Appears that the stock muffler took a beating... I might be able to get my cousin to repair it. We'll see.

On second though, I may go ahead and buy the CXRacing intercooler kit over at mazdaspeedtuning. Custom aluminum piping, BOV, and if I need a more beefy cooler later I will already have the piping in place. Anyone have any thoughts on CXRacing's stuff?

Good to know, thanks for the quick reply. I'll have to call up a mobile mechanic to purge the MSP's system then, and have him do the P5 in the same trip. While I plan to eventually upgrade the intercooler, "stage 1" of this particular project is to do a 1:1 swap of everything as much as I can.
